The Legend of The Farm
All The Valley BackblastsMay 17th, 2020
7 brave PAX embarked on an adventure that they had no idea the were embarking on in the Saturday gloom of 16, May 2020.
The Q planned two routes, the first of which was an extreme overachievement for himself and possibly some of the others. So Route 1 was shaved from 4.2 miles to 3.2 with being back to the launch point on time for Route 2 as a top priority.
And yet, this is where the legend begins. Unbeknownst to the Valley PAX that posted for Route 1, somewhere in the gloom lurked a creature PAX of legend. The amount of hair on this PAX, some say due to quarantine, is enough to make a sheep farmer giddy. None of the Route 1 PAX were aware, or spotted this legendary PAX but evidence of his presence existed at launch point when we returned; in the form of a Honda Pilot with an F3 sticker affixed to the rear.
Route 2 launched with a few new PAX in tow…well, Landlord joined so it was more like the rest of us were in tow. Anyway, Route 2 took us into Radborne and onto the greenway. YHC had a little slice of trail planned for the crew but that’s where things got strange. Landlord disappeared causing the PAX to call out for him in the gloom. We heard what sounded like the shuffling of small feet and what would normally be the cadence of a small youth coming down the greenway. Suddenly Landlord appeared on the trail and we all jumped into the woods.
You see, over a year ago there was a well known PAX who was named after a highly classified bootcamp for CIA Special Agents; know as The Farm. There are stories and legends about said PAX but actual evidence of his existence is the making of legend and myth. Legends like Spartan, BRR, SMR, Mother Trucker, Jug-A-Lug, Dog chases, potty squats and trolling.
The Route took us up the Hill of Shadows and back to launch point for a socially distanced COT and BOM. Then suddenly, out of the gloom, appeared a wooly creature in F3 gear. He approached the PAX and engaged in mumblechatter as if he knew the ways of F3. Maybe this was the legend personified. Maybe these were PAX hallucinating after a hard Saturday morning run.
No one really knows; and the legend of The Farm continues to this day.
