Happy Eighth Birthday Highlands – Preblast
All Highlands BackblastsMay 4th, 2020
Good news! The Highlands will be open for business again on Friday, May 8, and it’s just in time to celebrate MECA’s first AO (founded 5/8/2012) with its eighth birthday. However, there are going to be plenty of changes coming with our grand reopening as detailed here so please read closely:
- CMS school grounds are still closed because of COVID-19 so we will be moving our operations to the Highland Creek Golf Club (HCGC) until further notice. Fortunately it is located right across the street from HCES at 7101 Highland Creek Parkway so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding it.
- Social distancing will be in effect. Please plan on staying at least six feet away from others at all times, including running events. This also includes the pre-workout gathering and COT. There will be no BOM but we will continue to hold a well-spaced prayer at the end of the workout
- There will be no more than ten PAX working out together at one time. In the event that more than ten men post for a workout, we will split into two or three different groups with separate workouts led by separate Q’s.
- Masks or buffs are okay if you want them but are not required. We will rely mostly on spacing to keep everyone safe.
In order to thin the herd we will also be expanding our workout schedule to include multilple start times, including a few evening workouts. Here is what our new schedule will look like, at least for the time being. Remember that all workouts will be held at the HCGC except for Last Call
- Monday Mettle – 530AM
- Tuesday Boot Camp – 530AM, 630AM, and 530PM
- Wednesday Cruise – 530AM
- Thursday Boot Camp – 530AM, 630AM, and 530PM
- Friday Cardio – 530AM
- Saturday Last Call – 7AM at MCCP, followed by parking lot coffeteria (BYOC)
The sign up genius is open for business so please go ahead and start signing up to Q. In the event that no one signs up you can assume that we will have a people’s Q. It will be helpful if you can think ahead and plan some tentative beatdowns in your mind just in case we need to split up the PAX for some of the workouts. Remember that HCES grounds are off limits, including the bus lot, playground equipment, middle school, and the track. But you can still use Skyline Drive, Shelley Avenue, Highland Creek Parkway, the haunted hill, and Street Street so there are plenty of options.
Please sound off below if you have questions about our new format. I hope to see you back in the gloom with us on May 8.
