Leap Day at The Mill

All BackBlasts Backblasts

February 29th, 2020 By Grandmaster

Three, yes three, men beat back the covers this morning and posted on the bonus day were like to call Leap Day. In case no one noticed, when we decided to fill up the February Qs, YHC jumped on the 29th ASAP. The theme of the workout was obvious. There would be lots of feet off of the ground during this beatdown. Here’s hire’s it went down.

WARMORAMA: Mosey to Switzerland (AKA the wind tunnel) for 20 SSHs IC, 15 ISTs IC, 10 BSNs IC, 5 Burpees OYO

The THANG: Mosey to Putting Green and partner up for for DORA: 100 Hand Release Shoulder Tao Merkins, 200 Jump Squats, 300 Freddie Mercs IC, timer does Mad Cats across the putting green and broad jumps back. YHC loves some mad cats, however, the putting surface was quite slick with frost which made getting any distance with the kats difficult. So, after the 100 Merkins were complete, the kitties were put back in their cage in favor of broad jumps both ways. This did make completing the DORA a lot faster do with only 35 mins elapsed after the last Freddie Merc was complete and a 10 count was called we mosied down Vance to the Loop, hung a right and started around the Loop. Stopped at the corner of Loop and Hwy 3 for Monkey Humpers until the six caught up. Continued around the Loop to the top of tunnel path and stopped for some more work. Each pax took a turn running down to the tunnel and back up while everyone else performed Down Dog Merkins. After that idiocy was complete, we ran back to the AO stopping at the corner of Biotechnology Rd. to plank while the six caught up. Back at the AO there was some stretching.

COT: Prayers for job situations and fellow pax who couldn’t be bothered to post even though they had the shovel flag.

MOLESKIN: As promised on Slack, pre-beatdown texts were sent out to Chicken e and SirTopEm. Neither responded prior to 7am. It was good to see Gunny getting back to form after fighting off the virus which shall remain nameless. Squid was pushing the pace on the run back to the AO. YHC would have been happy to stay back with the six after all the broad jumps but couldn’t resist the unspoken challenge of Squid pulling away from the pack. Is BD really that slow or just finding another way to troll the Q? After all the “Alabama is awesome” talk you would think he would be able to push the group. Perhaps he needs to hear banjo music to set a decent pace. Thanks for coming out his and putting up with my Q on the fly after the DORA was complete. Coffeeteria at Editions was awesome as usual even though the coffee pics were not exactly what I would consider art. #showtoknow or visit the Concord channel.
