Three Amigos at The Village

All Boondocks Backblasts

February 25th, 2020 By Big Tuna

Three Pax from MECA Boondocks AO dodged the rain this morning for a Big Tuna led cruise around The Village. This was another beat down that YHC had signed up to Q and was greeted that morning with rain or threat of rain so we opted for the approach that it won’t rain as long as you keep moving and don’t stay under shelter. Pax arrived early, shovel flag was planted, disclaimer give and here’s how it went down:

Warm Up
Mosey out of the Y, go around the Kidney Center (was going to stop there for warm-up but called an audible to avoid smoker), across Albemarle Road and over to the covered drive-thru area at the Credit Union for:
 Seal Jacks (x15, IC)
 Windmills (x10, IC)
 Low Slow Squats (x10, IC)
 Plank Jacks (x15, IC)

The Thang
Mosey next door to the AAA office building and stopping along the back side – shipping/receiving entrance for burpee ladder – start with 10 burpees at 1 end and then down the other end for 9 burpees, back to the start for 8 burpees and so on and so forth down to 1 burpee. Alternated between lunges, bear crawl, crab walk, toy soldiers, etc., as we went down and back each time. We were greeted by a security guard who came out and checked on us to ensure we weren’t trying an early morning break-in and must have decided we were non-threatening as he left us alone.
Went to the front of the building for 20 dips, 20 incline merkins, and 20 decline derkins using their nice benches.

We commented on how nice the front grass looked at the AAA building but unfortunately there is no front entrance or sidewalk so we ventured across the soggy turf out to Albemarle Road and made a quick loop around to the back entrance of the AAA property for some coupon work:
• 15 thrusters (OYO)
• 10 tricep presses (IC)
• 10 bicep curls (IC)
• 10 bent over rows (IC)
• 15 overhead presses (OYO)

Quick mosey around the AAA parking lot, head next door for mosey around the DMV parking lot, head across the side street and then around the QT while avoiding cars and trucks.

Cross back over Albemarle Road and back to the Kidney Center for various exercise rotation while 1 pax was the timer with a run around the front parking lot.

Mosey back to the Y entrance for Mary and COT.

Mary
25 LBC’s (OYO)

COT
Name-a-rama, closing prayer and then it’s time for coffee!

Moleskine
Strong work today – great push by everyone to keep moving and we also stayed pretty dry!
