THE MUD BOWL
6 studs made it out for some epic 3-on-3 football action this beautiful dark morning. Life Alert even came out of retirement to grace us with his presence! 🙂
5:30 disclaimer from YHC
10 SSH to throw everyone off before we created what will forever and onward be known as the “cowboy run.”  Think Indian Run but you run from the front of the line to the back after handing the football off to the pax behind you and knock out a burpee.  Gotta give credit to Sugar for drawing this play up in the dirt b4 we moseyed to HRMS fields.

2 Teams selected—Sugar, Life Alert, and Ty Webb dubbed themselves the “Roughnecks” while Love Seat, Soprano, and I had trouble landing on a name…more on that later…
Sugar and I did Paper Rock Scissors to see who goes first—great minds thought alike until round 5–scissors defeated paper…Boucher and the no namers took to defense first

Logistics
-
Start on 20 yard line-4 to score
-
Scoring or Stopping team gets rewarded with 10 Merkins
-
Scored-on or stopped team gets punished with 10 Burpees
1ST HALF: Play-by-play-ish
-
Life Alert came strong off the DL with an immediate touchdown after a blown coverage by the No Namers. Love Seat then named us “Suck it” which seemed mildly appropriate at the time.  “Suck it” it is!
-
“Suck It” then sucked it up with 4 bad passes from YHC. Â Roughnecks win the 1st Quarter
-
At some point Life Alert pitched it to Sugar for the first running play TD of the morning…Sugar’s brilliant pastry-white legs shone in the darkness and he then became known as “White Lightning” for the rest of the game.
-
Soprano took over as coach and Suck It scored 2 touchdowns in consecutive possessions.  Love Seat had an epic sack at which point we changed our name once again to “Sack It”…then Love Seat destroyed Roughneck morale with a pick 6. Many merkins for Sack It…many burpees for Roughnecks.
Halftime Show
JLo and Shakira were not on site, but we did get a performance from Queen….
-
Bleacher Runs—20 trips uno and down
-
20 Freddy Mercuries—don’t we all want to ride our bicycles??
2nd Half—more epic 3 on 3
-
Can’t remember too much but we had a good time trying to not kill ourselves by slipping on the mud.
-
Not really sure who won…not sure if anyone really cares…it was fun getting out there and acting like a bunch of yahoos early in the morning!
-
Time started dwindling down so we decided to call it and head back, but not before….
In true football fashion, we ended our “practice” with a 1/2 Gasser (trip across the field down and back) that was supposed to be a race but ended up more of a “nobody pull a hammy while sprinting across the mud bowl” kind of challenge.  All 6 pax looked like ninja warriors out
there….

“Cowboy Run” back to entrance to greenway

10 Monkey Humpers for good measure—sadly no cars got to see the 6 derrières in the air

We have much to be grateful for: Not being quarantined in our homes, not having to wear masks every day, health enough to get out and be silly in the mornings with some buddies. Thanks gents for making some memories this a.m.  To those who missed it…we missed you but hope you can make the next Mud Bowl…it will hopefully not disappoint!
