January 20th, 2020 By Barrister

Upon arriving at the Sports Club, YHC was very happy to see some new faces, (Snape taking advantage of the school holiday and Snowsuit making his Mettle debut).  YHC had a weinke with an intricate workout dedicated to MLK Jr., but upon arriving realized there was a need to improvise.

Warm-a-rama:

11 Mtn. Climbers

The Thang:

Partner-up.  Partner One runs to the handicap spaces and does 5 prison bercans (a burpee with peter parkers and pushups mixed in).  Partner Two does curls under Partner One returns.  Rinse and Repeat x 3.

Announcements:

Hugo is picking up back packs to take to Nicaragua.  Great cause and if we get enough back packs, he may dress up like Dora the Explorer.  Come on guys, let’s make Hugo dress like Dora and sing the song.

Time Laps(e) – May 15-16.  Great CSAUP and seems to have a lot of interest this year.  Let’s try for 3 teams guys.  Hit me up on Slack.

Winter Gala – Feb. 1st.  Bring your M so they can enjoy some embarrassing stories from the gloom.

So this day has been designated as MLK Jr. remembrance day, and was truly a HIM.  He was born on January 15 and received the Nobel Peace prize at the age of 35 (at the time the youngest person to do so).  He was arrested countless times because of his PEACEFUL protests.  Yet he still stood up and fought for what was right.  He sacrificed so much, so that others like him could grow up in a more just and equal society.
