Ringing in 2020
All BackBlasts BackblastsJanuary 1st, 2020
6 ravishing revelers gathered at the corner of Strength and Stupidity for the first beatdown of the new year. YHC was delighted to see all those who posted but was hoping to see a few more faces in the gloom, if you can call an 0800 start the gloom. YHC had grabbed the Q for this beatdown with a brilliant and totally original idea. I mean, I’m sure this was the only AO in the NATION to perform 2,020 reps today. Here’s how it went down.
After a welcome and a disclaimer, we moseyed to the corner of West Ave and West A for 20 single count SSHs. It was made well known by a certain member of the Pax whom shall remain nameless, that the SSHs should only be performed in cadence. But that would be 10 reps and not the 20 needed to round out our numbers. Learn to adapt, as we’ll see later, adaptation may be a weak point in this crew. Proceed to porches for the THANG:
Perform 10 sets of 20 reps of the following 10 exercises. None IC but on exercises with a left and right component, left-right counts as one rep. The exercises, in order, were:
LBCs, Apollo Ohno’s, Squats, Dips, Freddie Mercs, Mountain Climbers, ISTs, Bonnie Blairs, SSHs, J-Lo’s.
The same gentleman who complained about the single count SSHs also complained that they were included in the rotation. Some people just like to be heard I guess. There was some confusion on how to count a Freddie Merc or any other such movement with a part for each side of the body. The Q had to demonstrate how to count these at least 5 times. Perhaps a class on math may be in order.
Everyone finished all 10 rounds for a grand total of 2020 reps, and some got extra credit running or reps while the stragglers (YHC) finished up. We moseyed back to the AO for some Broga and….
COT: Thanks for ending 2019 better than we started it and prayers for continued growth, both as a group and individuals, in 2020. TheBurgh is spearheading a 2nd F event at Old Armor Beer Company which is poised to become our home court.
MOLESKIN: I’ll keep this short since there is already an awesome backblast out there that sums up all that I feel about F3 and the impact is has had on my life and the lives of others. Be sure and check out El Ab’s post here. He puts it much more eloquently than I would be able to. Heck, I had to use spell check to spell eloquently, both times.
