Calorie Burning at the Mill
All BackBlasts BackblastsDecember 2nd, 2019
Must have been some good eating over the Thanksgiving weekend. A total of 8 men gathered on the corner at the Kannon AO to try to burn off some of those extra helpings of stuffing and pumpkin pie. The chill in the air promised to make calorie burning a bit easier. (You know cold weather makes you burn more calorie, right?) YHC had texted a certain mildly famous poultry snack to make sure he would appear and run with us, and even received an return text saying he would appear. But alas, our hero sent a second text at about 0528 saying he would be late and would join for COT. YHC sent him a brief description of the planned route and we headed off.
North on Main, East on 8th, North on the Greenway to Baker’s Creek Park, through the park, West on Goldston, Sourh on Glenn, East on West C and back to the AO. As we turned onto Goldston from the greenway the Christmas lights in Village Park lit up the ghost of Christmas future came floating down the sidewalk. Oh wait, no, that was just our boy Chicken Strip with his technicolor dream vest and flowing locks joining us for the rest of our loop.
We kept a descent pace for a bunch of turkey laden trotters. Between the route and backtracking the Pax completed between 4 and 4.5 miles. We finished up with some broga and stretches.
COT: Prayers for Pax with family issues and for YHC’s grandmother who seems to be in her final days. Prayers for her family as well.
MOLESKIN: Guys, I can’t stress it enough, lean on each other. Iron sharpens iron, and a three stranded cord is not easily broken. We need each other and it’s not just the other guy that needs you. You need to reach out for help when life gets too tough. I know I need the strength that come from having virtuous men around me for prayer and advise, even when I don’t ask for it.
Thanks for following and letting me lead. It is always an honor.
In HIS Service,
Grandmaster
