It’s 5:30 lets run…

All The Dawg House Backblasts

October 24th, 2019 By Scottie Altschuler

YHC arrived at 5:23 which left me just enough time to suit up in a vest, get my blinkies on, headlamp, hat, gloves, Knee brace, oh and set up the flag!  But what is this in my mulch pile! Some Redneck went driving through my mulch, good thing this is a Shovel & a flag!  Ok meet up with the OG’s of the Dawghouse to discuss our route, which really wasn’t a discussion more of a this is what we are doing.  We took off at 5:30 no Ruckers in sight, and 6 of the fastest F3 guys in the land.  As we ascended to the top of the hill, we saw a shiny red caddy coming in nice and slow, The song “Low Rider” was blaring from the windows!  We thought maybe we could make it across the street turn off our lights and hide then jump out and scare Pharaoh, as it is Halloween, but we decided that Pharaoh was just too fast and we wouldn’t have enough time to find a good enough hiding spot, so we went back for the pick up.  Again we mosey to the top of the hill and head on our way, there was talk of the weather stations and apps all claiming 43 degree weather, but it was 38 and totally different from 43!  We made a left and then another as we were leaving Carolando, I thought to myself, we are running fast, but then shrugged it off and kept the pace. (8:48)  We headed to the Walmart parking lot and back towards the Gate gas station.  Now I know why the gazelles were running to fast, Tug Boat Willie needed a break, an Amway, a Shartsack!  Talladega stayed behind to wait for Tug and the rest of the herd headed on down the BIG hill and into the apartments, Pharaoh told me I wouldn’t be able to cut this part of the route off, even if we ran it backwards because I am too fast now.  At the time, I still had hope, but alas he was correct! I am too FAST!  Through the apartments and poof there is Tug and Talladega, onward up the hill!  Tug was in YHC’s ear and told me no way he was letting me stop, we were going up the hill and no walking was allowed.  So I did what any good leader would do, I followed his lead!  To the top and still chugging along, back through the town homes and back into Carolando.  Thank you to Pharaoh for pointing out the HUGE hole in the grass that could have been real bad!  I thought for a minute that Hop Hunter was going to hijack the route to add on an extra loop, but I guess Tug and his 4 am round up was enough for today.  Hop told me about how he was trying to fool Ol Torchy on the post the day before and man I messed that one up! Sometimes you gotta let your sheriff defend ya.  Habs & Rerun were blowing through the run I only knew they were still with us, because I could see the glow of Habs light vest!  Alas, we were back at the Dawghouse just on time 6:15!  5.5 -10 miles altogether depending on what time you started.

Prayers for Talladegas youth pastors wife & for Tupperwares daughter.

Pharaohs got the lead on Friday, so come on out and support the OG!

Thanks for the opportunity to lead today! SYITG!
