9/11 Stair Climber

All The Dawg House Backblasts

September 11th, 2019 By Walt Bundy

The DawgHouse was represented by 7 HIMs today for a beat-down as we remembered the tragedy of 9/11/2001,

QIC came rolling in hot this morning ready to provide what he hoped would be a beat-down worthy of the HIMs present. No time for chatter so off we went.

Made a lap around the upper lot returning to where we began to circle up for some warm-a-rama. Keeping in mind that the theme of the day was to remember the events and those folks surrounding 9/11/19

For those that brought rucks it was time to strap it on. Everyone mosey to the blocks to grab a coupon for those without a ruck. Mosey with coupon to the stairs at the end of the football field.

Time for a little stair climbing as we remembered the service men and women as well as civilians who selflessly and tirelessly traveled up and down the stairs of the WTC’s to help and save others.

First round to honor firefighters, EMS. There are 234 firehouses, EMS and 2 fire-boats that serve NY city. Carry the coupon up and down the stairs for each execrcise.

Round 2 in honor of Police and Port Authority.  There are 77 police precincts and 12 transit districts that service NY city.

Mosey back to the location for the blocks and drop them off. Mosey to Mary!

Announcements, Prayers, Praises

Moleskin:

As QIC was preparing for today’s couldn’t help but be drawn to the thoughts of what occurred in our great country 18 years ago. 2606 men, women, children lost their lives in the destruction of the Twin Towers, along with 154 passengers on the two aircraft. What a tragic day in the history of our country. So how could QIC do something with the workout that would honor those folks and remember this tragic event. The thought was to hump it this morning all while carrying a coupon and enjoying some music that would cause us to reflect on this time in our countries history.. The stairs would serve as a reminder of those who selflessly and tirelessly went up and down the stairs of the towers to assist those inside. Many whose efforts end int the ultimate sacrifice of their life.

Thank you to all those men and women who serve or have served this tremendous country that we are so blessed to live in. Whether in the armed forces or as a public servant this country would not be what it is without you.

A few facts: The original World Trade Center was a complex of 7 large buildings that opened in April 4, 1973. i World Trade Center stood at 1368 ft  and 2 World Trade Center stood at 1362 ft and were commonly known as the Twin Towers and at the time they were the tallest buildings in the world. There were many that felt that the destruction of the towers would cripple our nation. Little did they know that this would unite us and make us stronger. As exemplified in the resolve rebuilding the WTC with 6 new buildings. The first of which 1 WTC stands 1776 ft tall and opened in November 2014 and is the tallest building in the western hemisphere.

What a great country we live in. Knock us down, attempt to break our spirits and divide us. No sir, we will unite withe a new found resolve to demonstrate our love for GOD, one another and country. We will seek justice against those who even dared to attempt to destroy us and we will replace what was destroyed with a newer bigger and stronger version. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Great work by all today! Thank you for allowing the opportunity to lead such a fine group of HIMs!

See you in the gloom!
