Rolling out the kinks
All East Charlotte BackblastsAugust 22nd, 2019
YHC arrived at The Vet at 0505 thinking he would have some quality “car-sleep” time before the 0530 start, since no one responded to my preblast for a 0500 prerun yesterday. However, when I pulled in the lot I saw a familiar truck. Yes, it was Silas’ truck and he was out and about somewhere in the park putting in some miles #strong. Yeah, I could have gone out there to try to find him but instead I read my notes for the workout and waited for him to return #stillsleepybutpresent
At 0525 Silas returns letting me know he put in 2 sweaty miles. Sidebar: Now, you need to know that only a few measly months ago, Silas was an FNG, never having run before coming to F3. Today, this #respect brother is running with the Big Dogs (ruff-ruff) and ready for his first 5k (bring on the Brixx). I am proud of you Silas, you make us stronger just by showing up! Your actions today should remind us that the grip of the fartsack is strong and it takes real effort and accountability to break that bond, get your a$$ out of bed and show up with your brothers. I thank you. As for the rest of you regular broga brothers (you know who you are), where were you?! What was your “excuse” today to miss the #smartestworkoutoftheweek? I mean it is a 0.0 workout and if you really wanted you could do the “corpse pose” for 45 min.
0530 rolled around and we began with a lousy disclaimer, right into a few rounds of up dog/downdog vinassa’s. Then, YHC pulled out two foam rollers. I gave one to Silas and we both began to “roll out our kinks” starting with our Hamstrings, knees, IT band, calfs, achilles, quads, glutes, lower/upperback, shoulders, etc. Great change of pace and something we both agreed needs to be done more often while we are just watching TV at night in the comfort of our home. My guess is Silas will be making a run to Dicks in the near future for a foam roller purchase.

Announcements
1. YHC had a AO Leads meeting with the Nantan last night. I was told that we are doing good with the Tweets and Backblasts but can do better. Remember, tweeting the numbers and writing backblasts is part of Q’ing a workout, Let me know if you need help in this department.
2. Silas is ready for the Brixx (9/14), are you? Consider it if you haven’t already as it will be a great event to do with your Mint Hill brothers. Oh yeah, there is pizza and beer at the end 🙂
3. Mint Hill Leadership decided to start a Saturday once/mo F2 Fellowship gathering for the Pax. September 12 will be held at Highchairs house. More details TBD. Put it on your calendar, M’s are invited too!

Thank you Silas for posting today. You ARE getting to be a stronger runner and you WILL get faster more you run. Just don’t rush it, take your time, you are on the right track. I seriously think you, and other Mint Hill Brothers, need to consider the Hunterville Half in December ( https://huntersvillehalf.racesonline.com/)
As always, a pleasure to lead you men (man) 🙂 AYE! SYITG!
