BackBlast of the Spider
All BackBlasts BackblastsJuly 23rd, 2019
Warmup: Quick mosey to corner of Belk lot for my normal 20 SSH, 15 Hillbillies and 2 10 Count Hamstring Stretch
Thang: It was an 8 piece hub and spoke type workout (Thanks @Popeye for the Hub/Spoke term) that made a spider web.
There was a center Hub with 8 pokes forming an Octagon around the Belk Lot. Each spoke also had a “Yellow cone” marking the mid-point.
Coming from the Hub each pax was required to do 5 Burpees at the yellow cones and then proceed to the end of the spoke at the orange cone for a different exercise.
Pax would then run up and down each spoke completing all exercises and Burpees in a clockwise direction.
- WWII x 25
- Brazilians x 25 (4C)
- Goblet Squats x 25
- LBC x 25 (4C)
- Merkins x 25
- Step Ups x 25 Each leg (Should have been total – way too much)
- Dips x 25
- Carolina Drydocks x 25
Each Pax completed at least one round but no Pax completed 2 rounds but much sweat was had by all.
All Pax then did a half jog around inner yellow marked octagon followed by a half jog around the outer octagon.
(In Case you didn’t know that made a spider web)(I will post a picture on Slack)
Mary: Broga including Down Dog, Upward Dog and Child’s Pose
Prayers up for Jara & group from Parkwood coming back from helping Trick, Kara and the loss of her father and family of one of Hunter’s vendors following his death
Moleskin: It was a great group this am although Q did secretly hope for 20+. I saw Phidip while setting cones and he was excited as he could “run an extra lap” and just meet Pax at warmup spot. (That dude is a beast) All Pax pushed hard today and workout did just as Q planned. It kept us moving but never allowed heartrate to slow unless individual needed. It seemed as though most Pax at least coupled up while doing exercise to enjoy some conversation. Ace got stuck with me, I enjoyed but he may have regretted. Mayweather was looking for Indy hoping for a quick flight home. Backdraft would randomly make loud unclear sounds and I would just agree. The step-ups were too aggressive as we only needed 25 total. Coffee had 9 in attendance and to Q’s dismay he has gotten blamed for names some deem undesirable. Many of those names not only were they not mine I wasn’t even in attendance when the naming took place. I will take Fire Chicken, Sun Dollar, Krispy Tiger and SnowFlake. Just on a side note Moses said he would have also liked “Hemlock”. Just saying!! I love Qing and I can’t think of a better way to start my day than working out with a great group of guys. Take care!
