No rain, why are we under the shelter

All Afton Backblasts

June 8th, 2019 By Shooter

A dozen men looked out the windows, pulled up the weather apps to see the heavy rains stayed away from the AO.  3 runners (Hop Hunter, Hokey Pokey and Big Blue) and 2 Ruckers (Amway and Shooter) came out at 0600 for pre-beat down activities.  YHC had a workout planned under the shelter to stay somewhat dry, but didn’t need it.

Warm-o-rama:

We left the lot, for a run down the path towards the bridge and circled up in the grass for the morning kick-off.

The main event:

With the bridge right there, why not use it. We did a reverse ladder with a combination of shoulder-ups on the bridge rail and merkins:  10 ups, 1 merk, 9 ups, 2 merks, and you get the point.

Indian run around the rest of the path to the depot to pick up a block and dodge the hornets nest we stirred up and head over to the shelter.

YHC pulled up the GORUCK 75th anniversary D-Day rucking challenge an incorporated it into the beatdown.

We did three groups of 25 for a total of 75 with block:

Mixed into the 75 to break it up were:

Mary:

We worked in the MeCa ab challenge for Mary, called out by Chucky with 35 mountain climbers, 35 reps of WWIIs, Freddie Mercuries.  We later learned today’s challenge was for 20 reps. So you have 15 of each in the bank for future

Moleskin:

Really enjoyed leading this group of men and glad to see a strong turnout with the weather not looking the greatest and kid’s sports activities still in force.

If you’re interested in this year’s BRR, check with Hop Hunter as soon as possibly to fill in some of the spots from those who dropped out after signing up on Thursday.

Always a pleasure to serve!
