Memorial Day Hill Training

All Kannon Backblasts

May 27th, 2019 By Chicken Strip

The route:

Run past city hall to the loop and take a left.

Cross Dale Earnhardt Blvd and pass the music and racing museum.

Turn right on Oak, quick left onto Gay (many many jokes were made) the a quick right into J.

Down and up J to Broad then turn right and down and up Broad/Central back up to Dale Earnhardt.

Then reverse the route.

Left onto Dale Earnhardt and cross the road for some Vance sprints.

Run to the 2nd intersection and back and then all the way to Main.

Run back to the deck.

Everybody got in at least 4.5 at a 9-10 min pace.

During COT up strolled Sir Topem Hat who got the delayed start wrong and thought it was 8 so he set off for some solo miles.

Mole Skin

Cobains for being late…again

It was nice to take on some new hills but I don’t recommend this route at night or alone.

While some larger dogs threatened to jump the fence only the ankle biters got loose and gave chase.

While running along Gay St. we apparently passed several pax’ houses.

We saw Sun Dollar at French Express and reminded him that he used to work out with us.

In honor of Memorial Day YHC ran in memory of Gray Cockerham, the older brother of one of my classmates who passed away in 2005 on his 2nd tour in Iraq. More information on Marine Cpl Cockerham here: https://thefallen.militarytimes.com/marine-cpl-benny-g-cockerham-iii/1206509

Grandmaster ran in honor of his grandfather who served in the military.

Thank you to all who serve in the armed forces and especially to those who have their lives serving our country. Our prayers are with their families today.
