Chase Donovan Clay 9/29/15
Dana Gibson Smith III 6/19/16

Today the COMANCHE brothers came together with a fellow PAX from CARPEX for a tough beatdown and tough discussion on the battle of Opioids and Depression in our country.

130 Americans die each day from Opioid abuse or recreational use. Almost 18% of the American population suffers from some type of anxiety or depression, only 36% of those seek treatment.

The morning started with a quick warmarama that included:  5 Burpees OYO, 15 Hillbillies, 15 SSH, 15 Cotton Pickers

The morning routine included the following in memory of Chase and Gibson:

We lost Chase on 9/29/15, he was 19 :

254 Days later we lost Gibson:

Gibson was 23, he went to be with our Lord on 6/9/16: (Follow this link for Gibson’s Story) https://themuggo.com/2018/12/05/gibsons-story/

Mosey to Mary

My son started with recreational marijuana, that eventually lead to Opiods.  We pleaded with our son not to smoke marijuana, we sought treatment knowing that smoking could lead to other drugs.  Opioids are one of the leading causes of death amongst teens. Please take time to talk to your kids tonight about drug use and the dangers of synthetic drugs.  There are pills being passed around today that have been made to look like a prescription pill or candy when in fact they could be made with anything including Fentanyl, drain cleaner, etc. Kids are under extreme peer pressure today which makes it all the more difficult to resist these temptations.

My good friend Dana AKA “Chinese Downhill” is spreading the word to students all over our state about the dangers of drugs and depression.  Look around….there are likely people in your circle who are dealing with some type of depression. We in F3 have experienced the cost of depression not long ago. Do you know someone that has displayed any of the following symptoms:  Lack of energy, loss of interest, irritability, feelings of sadness and emptiness?  Please reach out and offer to help, does this describe yourself?  Ask for help, your a better man for asking than internalizing the pain of depression.  Want to speak with someone about your experiences reach out to Dana Smith “Chinese Downhill” at 919-218-7275 or myself Don Clay “Sizzlean” at 479-295-7807.
