The Thang
Like a Warrior Dash Race or Mud Run or Spartan, there is distance to cover over a variety of land surface types as the athlete progresses from one obstacle to the next. All obstacle would be located in and around the Precinct’s 3 main areas, the Cell Block, the Prison Yard and the Gun Range. After each obstacle we would lap the grounds to cover the required amount of distant over land to simulate actual race day conditions.
The Plan = Cover 10 laps with 10 obstacles in 40 minutes covering 3.7 miles. and it went something like this.
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Prison Yard for Bear Crawl
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Wall for 10 over the walls.
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Cell Block for Tire Flips. ( Partner )
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Gun Range lot for a hand over hand climb up and across the swings… moisture on the apparatus prevented this obstacle from seeing any action this morning keeping the safety of our PAX a priority, the Q opted for 10 pull ups.
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Cell Block Tire Carry ( Partner )
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Prison Yard Crab Walk
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Wall for 20 muscle Ups
- Timed out after this round.
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Prison Yard for Army Crawl
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Cell Block for over the nets.
- Lap the Precinct grounds to the Gun Range for 20 Dips
Results, we covered 7 laps with 7 obstacles over a 2.8 expanse of land.
Great work from everyone, team effort was emphasized through out the beat down encouraging each other to push and finish strong.
Prayer Request – Books and school fees are due in Africa at the Orphanage run by Brutus and his Mission Servants Ministry – One way to support is to Run Time Laps with Landlord, pledge an amount per mile and he’ll match it, or simply pledge an amount per mile that Landlord covers and submit that amount to https://missionservants.org/donations/
