Ruck or Run…..
All BackBlasts BackblastsJanuary 23rd, 2019
At 0455, four brave souls arrived on the gravel lot at Veterans Park in Mint Hill. We had two ready for a run and two for a ruck, so when the clock struck 0500 we were off. We headed out on our journey and both groups agreed to meet back at the lot for some cool down laps.
We headed down the usual 218 towards Hwy 51 (with one lit up for the occasion—safety first). We headed down 51 and took a left on Cresthill to the “red diamond” and back out, left on 51 and went until the sidewalk ends. On the return flight back to the gravel lot all was repeated except the “red diamond” on Cresthill. The total adventure was 5.37 mi and a moderate 9:00 pace.
The ruck covered approximately 3.2 mi and went to the clock (corner of Lawyers and 51) and back in a time of 48.34 min. or 4.0 mi/h.
Both groups met up for a quick cool down lap and some good mumble chatter. The chatter was again about the “Gremlin” and how all are looking forward to the next one in 2020. Rick Pinto continues to live like a “Champion” in our conversations and our memories.
