Parking Garages and High Adventure
It was just Big Tuna and me out there in the gloom this AM, so we kind of took it at our own pace, kept dry and did some exploring.
First stop was the West Deck which provided a plethora of opportunities for going up and down stairs. After a quick warmup we did a series of Merkins and WWII Sit Ups on different levels of the deck then ran each level all the way down from the top.
Next stop was the Union Deck where we ran all the way up the stairs on the new end. We followed the climb with 20 Air Squats and 25 Sit Ups. Then we ran to the far end, descended the stairs to the bottom, ran to the middle stairs, and scaled the stairs to the top. Again, we did 20 Air Squats and 25 Sit Ups. Running the ramps all the way down, we stopped several times for Merkins and WWII Sit Ups.
We started making our way back to the start and stopped at the Tennis stadium for Muscle Ups, Step Merkins, Bear Crawls, Crawl Bears, and Lunges.
We ran back to the cars, and since there was only a few minutes left, drove down Alumni Way to park closer to the UNCC Venture Club’s Challenge Course. We walked down the trail to see what it was all about. It looks like a fun course, but we’ll have to leave the high ropes area to the professionals.
