A nice, cool Valley Cruise

All The Valley Backblasts

October 14th, 2018 By Heatstroke

YHC decided on Friday to put together (4) 30 minute routes for Saturday’s cruise to attempt to accommodate some passporters who wanted to double dip and get stamped by the Valley and the Mineshaft (which would launch at 0600,) as well as the usual 0530 crowd, and also anybody else that needed additional mileage (YHC was looking for 11.)  So a solid block from 0500-0700 of running was available.

0500 YHC arrives in a nice cool 50 degreeish gloom to find Filibuster waiting.  Nobody else, so we are off.  Up Prosperity and loop back around via Loganville/Johnston Oehler.  Halfway through the run Anvil’s sweaty shirtless self appears and joins us.  We finish up and Laser comes strolling in presumably running from his house for the festivities.

0530 No additional runners, and the 4 of us take off down prosperity, through the Trader Joe’s lot, and back.

0600 The 4 arrive back and find the Passporters, Kilowatt and Othello, along with The Rock and Fedex.  Kilowatt and Othello take off for Mineshaft. The other 6 take off up Prosperity to weave our way through the Precinct neighborhood.  Fedex mentions he has been pre-running already and is going to just continue to run some more on his own.  Okidoki.  So the 5 of us work our way through the neighborhood as YHC kept a close eye on his GPS as we missed a turn early.  We manage the rest of the route and return safely.

0630 The 5 of us take off this time down Prosperity, right on Mallard Creek, down to Colvard and back.  We lose Filibuster along the way due to nature calling.  Laser decides to just jump on the greenway and skedaddle on home.  The 3 remaining head back to Tradition.

COT: Hit the Brixx 5K Sunday (pretty much right now as I am writing this), prayers for Hurricane relief, prayers for injured PAX

Moleskin:  I appreciate you men coming out, that last two routes of that run were a real struggle for me.  If I was running by myself, I would have cut it short, but I got my 11+ miles in  #accountability.  Definitely a cool morning, weird that I started feeling a bit cold on the last route.  Anvil killed it out there, turning my 11+ mile route into a half marathon, great work!  Laser was his usual Laser just churning out miles as he mentioned he would be doing another 22 or so tomorrow, sheesh.  The Rock came in at 0600 and delivered some energy to the group, solid.  Saw Filibuster continuing his post-deuce run as I was driving away, picking up 16+ miles when all was said and done.  Never saw Fedex again, but am just going to assume all is well as he has been killing it in the gloom ever since becoming a part of F3 barely two months ago.  Saw on Strava that Kilowatt and Othello made it to the Mineshaft ok.  As always, the opportunity to lead is always appreciated.
