“The Rhythm of Labor” Bootcamp at The Precinct
All The Precinct BackblastsSeptember 4th, 2018

In late 1800s, the average blue collar worker put in 100 hours per week! During that time a movement tipped the scales to create more humane Labor Laws. Part of that was a “Labor Day” celebration to give workers a mandatory day off. A related part of this movement was the creation of the 8-Hour Work Day. The idea was that the rhythm of a working man’s life should involve 8 hours of Labor, 8 hours of Play, and 8 hours of Rest – each area taking up a third of the average day. In honor of this, YHC thought it would be “fun” to break up this morning’s Precinct bootcamp in the same rhythm. Moleskin & Announcements:
- Thanks for joining me this morning gents! Labor Day reminds me that I have so much to be thankful for when it comes to having a stable job and the freedom to work. It’s all too easy for me to take this for granted. A couple work-related quotes for inspiration:
- “Achievement happens when we pursue and attain WHAT we want. Success comes when we are in clear pursuit of WHY we want it.” (Simon Sinek)
- “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Paul, Colossians 3:23-24)
- Welcome to FNG Richard Sims! See you Thursday!
- Speaking of Thursday, “2 Step” will be bringing some pain “Laker Style” later this week!
