BETTER THAN A HALLELUJAH SOMETIMES

All Concord Backblasts

May 31st, 2018 By Hipbone

Another surprisingly big showing for a Wednesday AM work-out in the humidity w/ a total of 14 pax posting.
Warm-o-Rama at OCT:
-walk-out merks (x10 singles)
-windmills (x5 IC slow)
-alternating V-ups (15 singles) and dying cockroaches (10 IC slow)
-downward dogs (10 slow singles)
-cobra and child’s pose stretching
At the conclusion of warm-o-rama, pax jogged thru the city parking deck’s four levels and down stairwell haulting at the bottom of steps @ Carolina Courts.  That thang consisted of a grinder rinse-and-repeat jog cycle w the following pain stations:
*five merkin planks (slow 5 count) at bottom of stairs @ Carolina Courts
*fifteen alternating V-ups OR freddy merks (10 IC) @ second level of parking deck
*seven burpees @ deck’s fourth level
Mary consisted of only a minute of stretching.
Notes:
-KGB was “on that sh..” but eventually slowed down to allow Cat and P-Ryan to finish in the lead w him while Indy and Ticky were chattin’ away in the rear enjoying the humid 73degree morning w no sense of urgency
-Ticky was obviously envious of QIC, TP, et al for the sexy sleeveless look— said he didn’t get the memo— get wild bro and join the club/let that beautiful mane of hair down and cut dem sleeves off
-Prayers for many suffering, including Indy who flies out today to visit old man again in South ’Bama and Backdraft who is in the throws of a real-deal life stressor who is humble enough to give it all to Him— you may not feel strong on the inside right now, but you are assuredly very strong to me brother
-Please consider pitching in to help sponsor a F3 hole this Friday for First Baptist Church of Concord’s missions golf tournament— any dollar amount will be accepted— ask Cat for details— Cat stroked a $250 check already and let’s give him some dough back— some have agreed to chip in, but we need more— $5-20 each won’t hurt you undoubtedly, but will indeed help others who have it way harder than any of us— whether it be this endeavor and/or others, we all are instructed to give back some for all that we are given from Him
-I encourage you to youtube Amy Grant’s “Better than a Hallelujah” and listen to the lyrics— a few I recite below in quotation marks.  When we have fallen down in life— whether deserved (moral failures us men can make) or undeserved (health afflictions to loved ones), Our Father does not hold a grudge for the times we have not been so close to Him and given him lukewarm praise/thanks (ie given a “hallelujah”) in our good times, but rather he rushes to our aid and comfort w unconditional love— though undeserved— through Christ Jesus in our dark times of despair when we can’t see any light ahead w/o his compasssion and strength. We are closest to Him when we are in our darkest of times.
“We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes
…The tears of shame for what’s been done,
The silence when the words won’t come…
Better than a church bell ringing,
Better than a choir singing out…
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes”
Thanks for leading me. Aye, El Abogado.
