Six brave men dared to challenge a dismal looking weather forecast and posted at Highland Creek Elementary School this morning for yet another disastrous beatdown. The Sign Up Genius was still empty at 9PM last night so I decided to round up the ping pong balls and go with my standard inclement weather beatdown. It was raining buckets at 5AM but by 530 the rain was down to a light drizzle. The PAX still decided to play it smart and gather under the portico until it was time to start. After a thorough disclaimer (@Barrister approved) the PAX was off for a very quick loop around a nearby fire hydrant and then back under the portico for

THE THANG

Today’s challenge involved a rather wet paper bag filled with twelve numbered ping pong balls. The PAX was instructed to take turns pulling a ball out of the bag and completing the corresponding exercise from the weinke list as follows:

1. Ten Burpees
2. Fifteen Partner Declined Merkins
3. Twenty Carolina Dry Docks
4. Twenty Five Imperial Storm Troopers
5. Twenty Five Monkey Humpers (always a crowd favorite)
6. Thirty Merkins (not a crowd favorite at all)
7. Thirty Lunges – single leg
8. Forty Squats
9. Forty Reverse Crunch
10. Fifty Mountain Climbers
11. Fifty Freddy Mercury’s
12. Fifty Little Baby Crunch

There were also two of the dreaded black ping pong balls, which meant that the PAX would run a lap at the distance of the ball-pullers (ouch) choosing. @Nanny immediately took full advantage of this  challenge and has since been unfriended by the rest of the PAX. Once the exercise was completed the ball was returned to the bag and the next man took a turn. No repeato exercises were allowed but otherwise it was wide open. We ended up getting a pretty fair mix of exercises, with all twelve balls being chosen at least once but never more than three times. @Nanny picked a suspicious number of black balls and tried his best to turn this into a Tuesday cruise. Fortunately the rain held off all morning even though we stayed safely under the portico for most of the day. 1. Thanks to everyone who posted today. I have to admit I might have fartsacked when I heard the rain this morning if I hadn’t signed up to Q but it ended up being a pretty nice day.
2. Some strong bursts of wind toppled the ball bag over at least twice sending the PAX scurrying around to pick up the loose balls (it’s almost impossible to write this backblast without sounding dirty, sorry). Finally YHC weighed the bag down with a tape dispenser to avoid further damage.
3. @Dropcloth was nice enough to handle the mumble chatter this morning in @Gump’s absence. He had several things to say about some of @Nanny’s quarter mile loops that are not fit to print in a backblast, even one filled with references to wet balls and sacks.
4. Rumor has it that this beatdown could be making a second appearance at another AO in the near future so be prepared.
5. The rucksack team is training for Time Laps at the White Water Center tomorrow evening and there will be a trail running team there as well. All men are welcome to come and participate or simply cheer them on from the bar. Many beers will be consumed afterwards as well.
6. The Sign Up Genius is REALLY empty. I’m starting to run out of stupid ideas to share with the PAX so please sign up to Q if you haven’t done it in a while.
