We (my brother-in-law and I) are hosting an interest meeting next Tuesday, February 20th, at 6 PM at my house. We are going to be sharing about the trip, our experience from last year and answering questions people may have. We will have pizza and it’ll just be a casual event to hang out. The trip is April 19-22 and it is in the Blue Ridge Mountains (near Franklin, NC). It is a weekend where you will be challenged and taken on a mental, spiritual and physical journey. You will be on teams, hiking, camping and hearing short messages revolving around a bible character. This journey will take you to the highest place in the world, the foot of the cross. It is something you will look back on as a turning point in your life. If you think you can’t. that is precisely the reason to come. The guys will have to arrive Thursday night, so they will probably want to leave early afternoon from the Charlotte area (2-3 PM). This will be some time away from work (which I know is hard), but this is an investment in them, their marriage and their families. It is hard to see it now, but I will attest and my wife will attest that it is well worth it.
There are a lot of reasons people don’t want to go: Don’t Think They Need It, Money, Time, Age, Out of Shape, Not Outdoorsy, Wife Home Alone with Kids all weekend, etc. My brother-in-law and I had most of those excuses and within my group last year all of them were covered. We overcame them and looking back I am so thankful we did. It changed our lives.

 XCC: Extreme Character Challenge
The XCC is not just a weekend; it is a journey where you are mentally and physically challenged.
The Xtreme Character Challenge: a milestone in your life! 72 hours of adventure, challenge and inspiration. Multiple teams of eight to ten men, band together to face the rugged terrain and to measure ourselves and each other. Along the route the spiritual leaders of 4M speak short messages, often followed by a practical assignment to build on the Biblical lesson. Throughout the XCC, the men receive some twenty 10-minute talks that center around a Biblical character, such as Moses, Joshua, David, and, of course – Jesus. The aim of the XCC is to lead men to the highest place on earth, the foot of cross, in a way they have never experienced before. Men embark on a life-changing journey, surrounded by stunning scenery, seeking the boundaries of their abilities and trying to overcome the deep abyss between head and heart.
