African Style Bootcamp sendoff

All The Precinct Backblasts

January 16th, 2018 By Brutus_MECA

It was a starry 27 degree morning and 7 men showed up for an African Style Bootcamp and send off for Skipper, Little Buddy, and YHC as we leave for a mission trip to Uganda on Thursday.  What is an African Style Bootcamp?  Well, 3 things came to mind…. running, soccer (futbol), and need to fix soccer arms.

We warmed up with SSHs, 3 point cotton pickers, and Storm Troopers then after counting off, we headed for a run dribbling a soccer ball and passing to each other in order of the count.  The route took us to the Greenway off of Silvermere then down the Greenway to the back side of Kent Village, to the Precinct, then down to the end of saxonbury and back…about 2.7 miles.  YHC brought one of the indestructible 3rd world balls that will be going with us to Uganda which got rock hard in the cold.  Amazingly, we only lost it once on the dark Greenway.

The third objective, fighting soccer arms, was accomplished with pain stops involving Hand release and hand clap mericans, Carolina Dry docks, Muscle ups on the bridge, Dips on the guard rail, more mericans, dips and pull-ups at the gun range, more mericans, and a variety of Mary along the way.

Thank you everyone for the support and prayers.  I felt covered over in it as we prayed.  We will be in touch.
