7/1/17 Secret Fieldtrip Success
All All MECA BackblastsJuly 3rd, 2017
Thirteen guys chose to trust their F3 brother and follow along with this crazy idea of a MECA Top Secret Fieldtrip. (okay it wasn’t as secret as I thought…watch who you trust with inside information)
YHC lead the pack on said Fieldtrip out of Mecklenberg county to Lincoln county where one of our most feared Qs, AO lead, Nantan, HIM and MECA brother Col. Mustard recently moved his family. Col. had left large footprints in Highland Creek and MECA over the years so the idea came up that maybe we should go put a few F3 footprints in his new yard!
With some texting help from Grinder’s M and a little negotiating with Col. Mustard’s M the plan was set in motion. A rumor was even started from this exchange that Col. may not have posted to any F3 AO since he left the MECA region. What were we going to find when we got there?
Saturday 7/1/17 Clown car wheels are up and we are headed to ambush the Col’s new house. Half way there and a text is received from Grinder. “Tap on the bay window instead of the door, you will wake the baby!” My thought, crap I hope Col isn’t holding a gun when I tap on the window…!
Five cars convene on the driveway armed with a shovel flag and ready to surprise our brother. YHC taps on the window as instructed and takes five large steps back. He could have had a gun… Blinds open slowly and Col says What is going on? YHC motions for him to come out and play and says we are looking for a Q! At this point I can only imagine what the Col and his M are saying to each other…
Through the garage door Col. Mustard pops out with shoes in hand and proceed to take us on a beatdown tour of his home and the church property next door. It went something like this!
Warm up: Seal Claps (Because someone in this lineup does not like SSH) IST, Merkins, and more!
Mosey to the church side yard and partner up. Partner carry around the church. Mosey to far side of the lawn for some karaoke L/R, backward runs and sprints.
Mosey to the bottom of the hill for some lunges, backward runs and bear crawls up, then to the split rail fence for a top and middle rail decline merkin ladder mixed with LBCs and WWII sit ups.
Last stop…the pool. Nope not in it, circle up around it for burpees and squats, followed by a few shout outs from the pax. The pax added the pretzel crunch, the W, the crunchy frog, and a merkin clock.
Coffeeteria: Hammer brought coffee and donuts to compliment the OJ, bananas and water that YHC had planned. We spent an hour catching up with Col. and his family, sharing stories and wishing them well. Of course there was a lot of poking going on about getting Col. back to posting at F3. No worries, we found the same Col. He kicked our butts and he will be back!
