Eat, Sleep, workout, repeat…
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 10th, 2016
8 Men shook off the late night, laced up and tied their shoes the same way they did before and WILLINGLY followed YHC around for 45 minutes this morning. Here’s what we did:
Latta Lap: Stopping 3x for increasing Cross-fit Merkins- 10, 15, 20. (Do not go to the Castle).
Enter the park by the pool/fountain/stone chairs: 25 more Cross-fit merkins.
Mosey to the center of the Park loop. Partner up (by speed, though probably should’ve been by strength too). Partner A runs counter clockwise stopping at the Playground for 10 pull-ups and 10 knee ups. Partner B runs clockwise to the fountain/pool/chairs, 10 jump-ups, 10 dips. When both partners meet 10 Dumbocrats. Complete the circuit 4 (oops YHC just hit failure on his Dumbocrats) make that 3 times.
Mosey to Castle:
Partner up size this time: Partner carries (two refuseniks… but hey still a 75% participation rate so that’s a C now).
At the top IC wall derkins, Heels-to-Heaven, Russian Twists.
Run down the ramps, stopping for escalating Cross-fit Merkins at each level (Starting at 2, ending at 12).
Donkey-Kicks at the bottom and more ab work while we wait for the 6. AYG the stairs, plank, and back down. Up one more time (Hillary asked for it), and some more Donkey Kicks, just enough time to mosey park, complete 15 more pull-ups, 30 IC dips, (Muggsy got in some LBC’s too), run the far ramp up to the school lot (passing the polling building) and COT.
Moleskin:
YHC could rant/wax poetically about the political hubbub/election/surprise/miracle/unprecedented results/catastrophe (insert adj here)but what is done is done. Between home life, work life, health (some how YHC is under the weather) Q’ing was probably farthest from my mind. However, after an early morning quick scouting report (can we do jump-ups by the pool) somehow pulling this workout together just felt right. Yes, it was politically themed ( Hand-Released Merkins, Donkey kicks, and even choosing a partner) but all in all personally it was a good reminder that my day in day out effort is of my own choosing. So now here’s the challenge, to the upset get out and post. Build your community (we have plenty of opportunities to do that as a part of F3…more to come below). To the thrilled, continue to lead and build your community, because that’s the beauty of it all. Our time is finite, we all have a skill set (YHC believes Dredd called it our Dolphin), so find it, apply it and most importantly share it and pass it on.
Announcements (that community building thang)
Tutoring: Billingsville Tuesday (See Kickin’ Chicken for more info but reading and math based)/ AG Middle School Thursdays at 5 (see Chelms/Tater tots even YHC for more info, more life skills based) or even go to CMS’ website for their Northstar reading program and find a students to work with at a school closer to you.
Holiday/Food Drives:
Charlotte Rescue Mission: Turkey drive has started. They are looking for 500+ frozen turkeys this year. See Carrier, myself or Charlotte Rescue Mission for more information. The short, bring one to a workout Carrier or YHC posts to, or directly to CRM and say it is from F3. (Simple)
AG: The middle school is hosting both a canned food drive (now until the 17th), and a Frozen Turkey drop off (yes YHC knows he will donating at least 3 turkeys this year between both drives) on Friday Nov. 18th.
Workouts:
Charlotte Rescue Mission does some great work with men struggling with addiction. F3 (if you see the http://f3nation.com/2013/06/03/37272/) helps by serving meals (ask Mr. Bo,or Uncle) as well as by simply helping the men become more active. Core style workout, great double/triple down work.
Coming soon: See Slaughter or Pipe Line… weekday workout with the men’s shelter to begin soon.
Oh and don’t forget there are like tons of races for charity/causes (too many to name, but Joe Davis is coming soon), 24 Hours of Booty will start ramping up soon etc.
So long post short…post, post and post some more. The sun still rises in the east and sets in the west, and YHC ain’t got time for the drama. So as Ghandi is attributed to saying “Be the change you want to see in the world” or as Reagan said ” We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”
