Run and Gun
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 29th, 2016
It was Sunday at Church when Royal came up to me and asked “How do I go about finding someone to take my Q?” Of course the answer to this is “You ask someone”. Royal had hurt his wrist and was worried he wouldn’t be able to bring the full pain. So I told him I would take his Q.
Jelly and I started the morning with a 2 mile pre-run. I used to do a 1 mile mile pre-run, but stepped up to a 2 mile a few weeks ago. Its amazing how hard it was a few weeks ago and how easy it was this morning. Thanks to Jelly and all the men who do the pre-run! Definitely making us stronger men!
9 Pax including YHC braved the rain. But as our wizened War Daddy mentioned, it never rains at an F3 workout, and true to form, it did not. It was wet though. We thought planting the flag would be a little easier now that the earth had some wet stuff to soften it up. Apparently we were wrong. Buckwheats fat ass could still not get the shovel deep enough to hold firm in the strong winds that were whipping around. Many times the flag was re-shovelled due to being blown over. Mainly by an Irishman and an Australian. Someone should mention this to our president-elect! Not all immigrants are rapists.
We moseyed out for the Dingo standard warmup. A 0.75mile run around the apartments across the road. As we started to cross the road, I heard the groans of disappointment. I secretly smiled because I knew this would not be the only time we made this journey today. Not much of a 6 on this one, which tells me the Dingo Standard is working!
We got back for some warm ups and the Farm was introduced to the horror of not doing the SSH as the first exercise of the day. He recovered though. We did do some SSH, as well as IST, CP and something else. Then we moseyed over to the new parking lot.
9 of us, means 3 teams of 3. Two men from each team grab a rock. We did various exercises with the rocks, while one man ran. After 2 times through we would switch out 1 man from each team so we could all get to know each other a little better. The last one was particularly tough and relied on the runner, running as fast as he cold, so that the rock holder would have some shoulders left upon his return.
We ran back around the apartments. This time we lost the 6 and decided to separate and find them. Find them we did, well the other group did and we moseyed back for some Buckwheat led Mary! Thanks BW!
The Moleskin;
1. All hardened veterans out there this morning! Where were all the newbies? Skeered of a little rain! Don’t be skeered! There will be snow and ice and all sorts of fun things soon! What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!
2. Good push by all this morning. I love nothing better than on a sprint, when i hear someone catching me from behind, or someone who won’t let me catch them! Thats Iron sharpening Iron! You don’t get that working out alone.
3. Operation Sweet Tooth Toy Drive- give toys to Buckwheat or the the Q. Or give Buckwheat cash and he will purchase the toys for you. Or donate at the Christmas party. ONJ and Ribshack are going!
4. Christmas party this Saturday! 7:00pm at The Hickory tavern – The one off Harris Blvd and Statesville
5. RED Friday workouts start this Friday at Tradition.
6. Run Rudolph Run 5K this Saturday.

Good seeing you all this morning!
I was so confused when @Dingo led us across the street. Funny that it’s been over two years and men are still finding new ways to break each other down so that we can all become stronger.
Speaking of, a few pax took joy in picking me up as the six this morning. I’ll be the first to tell you that I used to regularly be the six when I first started cruising. It gets better with time if you keep at it!
Speaking of, come to the Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday runs to get faster!
Enjoyed it as always. Others need to join us on our pre-beatdown runs.
Oh, and great BB.
Good workout Dingo and even better backblast. Strong push by all today.
The rocks were a good way to mix it up, @Dingo. Also, switching up teams made it interesting.
Excellent beatdown @dingo and an even better BB. You are so descriptive and observant for such a young chap! Even getting into political commentary…
@dingo standard warm-up of running around the senior living center where I don’t live was seemed easy and nice…
