Trial Track & Trail Run
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 7th, 2016
YHC rolled in the parking lot (in true @TheFarm fashion) with ~30 seconds to spare and was greeted by 9 eager PAX. I thought this time change was supposed to make it easier to get up this morning? Anyways, a quick look around made it obvious that the seasons are changing with some guys in shorts & tee shirts and others in full winter gear. Most were sporting headlamps which would come in handy during our exploration mission to some brand new territory for F3. It went like this….
- Down the driveway, right on Northgreen, then right on Linksland.
- Stop at every street light on your right (unless you’re running backwards, @Nanny…) for 5 merkins until you hit the dead end.
- Pause at the trail head for an extra disclaimer… make sure everyone is at least close to someone with a headlamp through this section. *This was my first time on this trail, super happy that we found our way on the first try.*
- Pop out of the trail and get introduced to Skywalker’s “track”. Not exactly as symmetrical or flat as your standard olympic track, but it’ll do.
- Mosey around one time to get acquainted with our new feature. Take a mental note of the roots popping up next to the willow tree, those could be dangerous…
- Step on the gas for the next lap, AYG around that sucker! Time to set the leader board on the new strava segment for this loop.
- Next, partner up. Run opposite directions and stop when you meet for 15 pat-a-cake merkins at the far end then 20 pat-a-cake situps when you meet near the start. Repeato.
- Over the the picnic tables. P1 dips while P2 runs to a random sign and back. 3 Sets.
- Mosey back through the trail and take a short cut through hole #9 back to the AO.

- The last edition of the Shield for 2016 is tomorrow night at my house, 8pm. @Slappy will be the Q talking about financial peace. I heard he’s going to be giving out hundred dollar bills… better be there!
- Keep an eye out for a Burn Bootcamp workout coming up exclusively for F3ers. It will be a tough workout! Probably too tough for you…
Moleskin:
- Thanks for joining me today men. Hope you all enjoyed the new route. I think this will open up lots of new options for this AO. I wanted everyone to be able to get some you vs you running and push to your (dis)comfort zone.
- Quick shout out to @Stampede for knocking out his first Monday run workout. After being ill for the better part of a year, he’s dedicated himself to posting with us and getting his former paratrooper body back. Good to have you out there with us!
- It sounds like @Dingo and @Farm will be regulars on Mondays for a while as the train for some little jog coming up.
- Prayers for @Stampede’s Mom as she recovers from a brain aneurysm and for @Dodger as he goes in today for surgery as a result from his fall 2 weeks ago.
Choose to make today great!

It felt great to run this morning, I enjoyed it!
Nice change up Grinder! Variety is the spice of life and a good trick to keeping numbers up for any cruise! And who doesn’t like running on power line trails in the dark! (Not being sarcastic – it was fun!)
Great to see some brothers I haven’t seen in a while and great partnering with Stampede. Strong effort during the partner work.
@Grinder, you were still on time and that’s all that matters. Although I must say if I lived in the same neighborhood as my AO…
Nice switch up this morning. The note on the SUG got me out there. Good seeing some guys I haven’t seen in a while. See you next week!
Grinder, nice variety. I had no idea that trail even existed. Thanks to The Farm and Dingo for circling back to provide some much needed light on the off road. I guess it’s time to invest in a head lamp. See you gents later in the week.
