Grinder’s stacked deck

All All MECA Backblasts

November 6th, 2015 By Grinder

10 men stepped up and posted to experience a Skywalker first:  The Deck of Death.  It went something like this…

Warmup with some SSH, Cotton Pickers, and Windmills then mosey to bottom of parking lot and line up

The Thang

Each man takes turns sprinting up the hill to grab the next card.  Suit of the card determines exercise, value of card determines rep count.

Round 1

Round 2

Mosey, okay maybe it was a jail break, up and around parking lot then circle up for a short mary.

NMMS:

  1. We got through the deck about 1.5 times.  When you do the math, we ended up doing a bunch of reps.  By my math, we did precisely a whole bunch… give or take a few.
  2. Although it wasn’t a full deck, I think all the missing cards were low!
  3. That had to be the hottest November workout on record… I thought fall was here?
  4. You guys are getting much stronger and much faster!  Keep it up and continue to post through the winter.  It will pay dividends in the spring when we ALL do the MudRun, right?  April 30th is the date, mark your calendars now and clear it with the M.  No excuses!
  5. Did anybody else notice @Dodger today?  That guy killing it on the sprints to the deck!  Nice!
  6. Keep your ears open for volunteering opportunities we can do as a group.  It’s time for us to take the next step and start giving back to our community.  It’s one of the most important thing we can do.
  7. Speaking of next steps, It sounds like @Harding has something good planned next week for thelaunch of our first Monday Workout on 11/9.  Be there, you don’t want to miss it!  Same time, same place.

  1. That was a pinochle deck, no doubt. Maybe that’s just a midwestern game, but is played with 9’s through Aces from two decks combined into one. Maybe that number of Merkins can chip away at the Merk-vember total of a whole lot.

  2. Thanks everyone for playing along today. I think this is a great example of a workout that literally anyone out there can Q. Go ahead and sign up now…. you got this! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f044da5a828a6f58-master
