Shoots And Ladders

22 of Harrisburg’s most influential came out into the gloom of a nicely temperatured with no rain yet Spring morning to better themselves.  YHC wanted to try to recreate the magic of a childhood game favorite.   Here is how it went:

  • SSH x 20
  • ISP x 15
  • Windmill x10

The Thang:

Ladder #1 – parking lot hill – 5 Burpees at the bottom and 1 Monkey Humper at the top.  Reports of the first rep of 10 Burpess done by some have been received but not substantiated.  🙂  Plank until all done.

Shoot #1 – portico – partner up and rotate between running the school drop off loop and up to 100 Merkins.  SSH until all done.

Shoot #2 – parking lot by band field – Johnny Cash… form a ring and plank up.  Two of the PAX stand up, do Bobby Hurley’s x 5, run around the circle and then plank back up.  Then the next two PAX go.  Repeato until all have gone.  Plankers rotate between Plank, left arm up, right arm up, Down Dog and Baby Cobra.

Shoot #3 – Indian Run in two lines behind the school to the practice field

Shoot #4 – wall beside practice field – partner up and rotate between running across the field and doing an activity.  First activity is People’s Chair with Air press.  Second is Donkey Kicks.  Third is Balls To The Wall.  Hillbillies until all done.

Ladder #2 – benches by baseball field – 10 Step Ups (both legs) and 2 Dips.  Increase/Decrease by 2’s.   Lunges until all done.

Ladder #3 – tennis courts – Welsh Dragons… 5 bear crawl steps (both sides) then 1 Merkin, 1 Plank Jack and 1 set of Shoulder Taps.  Repeato but increase Merkin, Plank Jack and Shoulder Tap reps by 1 after each bear crawl.  Had to call time to head to Mary before we got across the court so sorry for any disappointment.

  • Freddie Mercury’s x 15
  • Low flutters x 15
  • LBC’s x 15
  • W’s x 15

  • Tomorrow Friday March 26th is the 5 Year Anniversary for the Dawg House.  They are collecting food donations for the W.M. Irvin Elementary Food pantry.  Check Slack for a list of needed food items.
  • Once again, thank you to everyone who participated and supported the Extinction Race.  Total Donations broke our record with $3010.  It was a blast and Suffolk Punch F3 Shovel Flag is a new fav!  Congrats Bonvoy on the crown with 29 miles.
  • Sign up today to Q!  The workouts aren’t going to lead themselves.
  • Please keep Kojak’s Mom, Virginia, in your prayers as she is battling Covid.

#Tclaps to @Birdcage, @TBone and any others YHC didn’t notice for the prerun.

Thank you all for coming out and allowing me the honor to lead this amazing group.  I’ve been trying to lead more to do my part and give back to something that has given me so much.  I have a goal for 2021 to lead each month and so far I’m ahead of schedule with five.  I would say to those of you that think you aren’t ready to do it that it isn’t as daunting as you think.  If I can do it then anyone can.  Reach out to one of the regular Q’s for any advice or to help you plan your first/next lead.

Great attendance today. Thanks again for all who came out to support the Q! I still make some mistakes but I think it is getting better with practice.
