Severe Storm Warning
It crossed YHC’s mind recently that several of our pax had never experienced Sharknado. The main reason for that is a great thing. The F3 Afton pax have done an outstanding job being HIMs and signing up to Q each workout, so Sharknado’s have not been necessary. The history goes back to days at the Dawghouse for many of our pax. This workout was introduced by Pharaoh as the default when no one signed up to Q… just to provide a little extra motivation to not leave slots open. YHC thought the group would appreciate the unexpected storm, plus it wouldn’t hurt to have a little reminder to the downside of leaving Q slots open… not that it will ever happen at Afton.
It went something like this…
Brief mosey and oval up by the playground. SSH x15 IC, SLAP jacks x15 IC, Hillbilly x20 IC, Windmill x10 IC, Penny Pickers x10 IC (with claps). Mosey toward the park exit heading toward Y. Stop for MC x20 IC and 5 Yurpees OYO. Special props to Iron City for his commitment to the CLAP. I see you brother!
Mosey out of the park toward the new lowering parking lot at the Y. Along the way to the lot we mixed in some extra work. Regular Lunges, Side Lunges, Backward Lunges, Skips. Once we made to the lot, we went old school with some parking lot line work and then it was time for the main event.
As the pax made their way to the far end of the lot, the weather started to change quickly. The wind picked up drastically and it started to become clear what was coming. We were walking right into a…
15 Burpees (run a lap)
20 Diamond Merkins (run a lap)
20 WWIIs (run a lap)
20 Merkins (run a lap)
20 Scorpion Dry Docks (run a lap)
The pax battled hard thru the destruction and made it thru a couple rounds before the skies finally calmed and it was time to mosey back to the park. Thanks to the inspiration provided by Hokie Pokie… we had several stretches’ along the way of “Halleluiahs” – running with your hands above our head. Entering the park there was on last pit stop for 25 squats oyo followed by a mosey to the parking lot for Mary.
It was a people’s Mary. Zacchaeus provided Low flutters, Moolah threw in some Pretzel Crunches, and 4-Wide brought it with some Baby Shark Love Pats.
The F3 big stick (official naming in progress) was unveiled this morning. It is all that is left from the remains of our original F3 Afton shovel flag, which laid down its services in the line of duty during our 1st clean up of the Afton Run Creek. This “stick” will hence forth be passed from pax to pax on a monthly-ish basis. The holder of said “stick” will pass it on to a fellow pax that has showed himself to be a HIM for the F3 Afton AO. Congratulations to the 1st and well deserving recipient Zacchaeus. Keep up the good work brother! T-claps

Prayers that we can continue to grow as a group and in our individual lives to be better men, better leaders, remain healthy, and follow the call to be the best men we can be.
All unspoken prayers
Thanks for showing up as always guys. Special thanks to our OG MQ 4-Wide and the words he shared during out COT this morning. It was a great reminder to YHC and hopefully the rest of the pax about how far this AO has come in the last 2 1/2 years. We have a great core that continues to grow and lead. Mission is not accomplished, but its great to see that we are on the right track. Thank you all for your participation in all the ways you have been (and will continue to be) involved to make F3 Afton more than just a workout. Let’s keep the momentum men!
