#BeatF3Louisville Running Distance Challenge

All All MECA Backblasts

April 6th, 2020 By Dutch Boy

As YHC was perusing Twitter, as one is wont to do during #socialdistancing, a tweet from the official F3 Louisville account caught my eye. Seems they had been challenged by F3 Naperville to a running distance challenge. The total: 618 miles, almost enough to run from Louisville to Naperville and back. They then challenged the Nation to top their number.

It got YHC thinking: we’ve got some runners in MeCa, I bet we could give that a go. Lord knows a challenge we can all get behind together is something we need right now. So I did what any good F3 Leader would do, I posted it on Slack to see what the reaction would be. The reaction was positive and our fearless Nantan @heatstroke accepted their challenge via Twitter for this coming Saturday.

So, the challenge I pose to The Men of Meca is this: run as many miles as you can on Saturday (April 11) and let’s see if we can top the number Louisville through out there. @landlord suggested we try to get to Louisville and back, which would be around 950 miles (depending on the route).

Have some virtual race miles you need to log? Do it Saturday. Looking to set a PR for distance? Do it Saturday. Doing a Zoom Virtual Beatdown? Add a mile on the front and the back. Every mile will help. Let’s band together and #BeatF3Louisville. If you’re one to use Social Media after runs, use that hashtag.

Add your name to the below Google Doc and track your distance when you’re done Saturday. It’s set to Auto Sum as we go along.
