MeCa Q1 Virtual Ruck Challenge: The Groundhog
So you already knocked out the Resolution Ruck and you have nothing else to motivate you for the remaining 11.5 months of the year. What’s a Rucker to do? Let me introduce you to The Groundhog. But no sudden movements. Most people don’t know that the sleepy little critter who on Feb 2nd will tell us if we have 6 more weeks of winter coming is a cold blooded killer. Groundhogs have been implicated in more human kills during the last 30 years than great white sharks. Punxsutawney Phil himself has killed 3 of his last 5 handlers. These guys are the honey badger of the ground rodent family. Yep, that’s right.
So now that we have established that the Groundhog is a worthy rodent to name our event after (some have argued the opposite) , let’s move on to the important stuff. Mileage.
During the months of January, February, and March you have the esteemed opportunity to pursue one of two challenges; the Tiny Groundhog or the Rabid Groundhog. This will be a virtual ruck challenge just like the Resolution Ruck and will be tracked via a Google Sheet. You will need to attain the following mileage totals in each of the three months (the mileage total starts over on the 1st day of each month):
- The Tiny Groundhog
- January: 25 miles
- February: 50 miles
- March: 75 miles
- The Rabid Groundhog
- January: 50 miles
- February: 75 miles
- March: 100 miles
- The Google Sheet (click this link)
HC here or just enter your name in the Google sheet. Please don’t feel free to ask dumb questions.
Happy hunting and beware the Groundhog….
