Windy Solo Speed
One brave soul dared to endure the high winds of the rapidly approaching Hurricane Florence this morning at Highlands Speed. @Pavarotti is on the shelf for a few weeks after a recent surgery so I will be taking the Q this month. After waiting until 5:40AM to verify that I was running solo this morning, I took a leisurely drive over to the track to face the wind head on. Aided by some trendy tunes from the late 1980’s I knocked out four laps before I finally surrendered to the weather. The back half of the track was easy but the front half was like running into a wall. After gazing sadly at my time and remembering when I used to run a sub-six minute mile back in high school I returned to the car for a lonely drive home.
DOT (dot of trust) with a Solo Prayer
Just a friendly reminder that F3 is held six days a week, rain or shine, except for Christmas. @Murdock has the Q tomorrow at Mallard Creek Community Park so come out and prove that you are man enough to show up, even in a hurricane. Once your electricity goes out you won’t have anything better to do anyway.
