F3 Team Building…and nothing strange, weird or uncomfortable about it
All Comanche BackblastsJanuary 13th, 2018
27 PAX took their DRP and posted to week 2 of The Mineshaft and the official kickoff beatdown for the Winter HEC (which starts Monday.) Depending on the PAX mindset, this red pill may have been a little harder to choke down than others. Either way, awesome to have everyone out on this damp mid 40s Saturday morning. Intro and disclaimer given and we commenced with a beatdown that would focus on some up close and personal team building that would be crowd pleasing in every way…
Mosey towards same start point that Astrovan performed warmarama in week 1. YHC felt confident he knew where he was going. That confidence was lost almost immediately as YHC had no clue where he was #notaprofessional (Q fail #1.) Found a decent size well lit area (this looks good) and circled up for…
Warmarama:
- 20 SSH IC
- 10 WM IC
- 10 MCs IC – slow with deep stretch
- 10 CPs IC – no sporadic clapping or anything
- 10 Crab Jacks IC
- 10 SSH Fast cadence
- 10 MC fast cadence
Reverse crab walk up stairs we arrived on (uphill ain’t THAT bad.)
Mosey back towards lot and halt at railings for 2 sets of:
- Inverted rows X 5 IC
- Incline Merkin X 5 IC
- Hamstring lifts each leg X 5 IC
Mosey across the street to front of soccer stadium (fairly public area – time to get a bit uncomfortable) and perform 10 Monkey Humpers backs to the street. About face and perform crab humpers/pickle pokers X 15 IC as we needed to make sure the lone car that drove by got it’s money’s worth.
Mosey carefully down the hill and onto the 49er soccer field. They may not make the same mistake again of leaving the gates open…
Circle up and count off by 2s. PAX instructed to remember their number for duration of beatdown. Time for Lazy Dora #norunning #notthatlazy. 1s perform exercise, while 2s perform static hold exercise and switch.
- Merkins / Planks X 10 IC
- LBC / 6″ hold X 10 IC
- Squats / Squat hold X 10 IC
Team Building Time. YHC has been involved with quite a bit of preparation for GoRuck events where coming together as a team is the ultimate priority. Time to get a small taste of that this morning. Cone placed near back line of soccer field and one placed at mid field.
- Leapfrog from cone to cone. YHC timed the first attempt – about 2:40. PAX given time hack of 2:30 to return to cone by goal line. 10 burpee penalty if time hack not met. Team crushed it – 2:15. No penalty.
- Human bridge crawl #paxfavorite – PAX line up at first cone on hands and knees (hey now), shoulder to shoulder. PAX commence in indian run/leapfrog order to climb over back of 26 PAX to the end where they return to their hands and knees. Tip given to not climb with your knees, but to pull on PAX to get across, and for PAX on bottom to tuck their chin…safety first. Mercy called after every PAX went down the line once. Go to midfield cone and time for…
- Tunnel of Love. PAX army crawl underneath bridge of PAX in high plank position. Good work by all as we make it all the way across to the end line cone. Had to make directional adjustments with the tunnel, but we made it. With 27 PAX, mumblechatter suggested that high plank hold was more difficult than the army crawl, YHC agrees.
Grab cones and we mosey off to the closest parking deck. More fun.
- Sprint length of deck
- Turn left and line up by teams. Team 1 and Team 2 – PAX remembered their numbers, well done
- Bear Crawl race. PAX in front reaches next parking spot line past start point, next PAX goes, until all go. Winning team gets all men across finish line at middle of deck. Team 1 wins narrowly. Q failed to mention that there was a penalty for losing, PAX are notified, Team 2 – 5 burpees OYO.
- Mosey up ramp and Kuechly/Karaoke to end of lot, turn left, and
- Broad jump race. Same scenario at BC race. Any form of jumping is acceptable. Team 2 wins this race. 5 burpee penalty for Team 1.
Time is tight, can’t work our way all the way up level by level. YHC asks Astrovan where stairs are to get to the top deck. Advice given and we get some stair work in. PAX arrive on roof and it’s time for…
Mary: PAX are instructed to get on 6 and line up shoulder to shoulder in a line for Indian Flutter Kicks, yes Indian Flutter Kicks. Pax on end runs to other end of line and gets back on 6 and performs flutter kicks, so on and so forth. Line of PAX makes it all the way across the parking deck at 0800 and it’s recover, recover.
Qfail #2 no phone for namearama. Qfail#3 poor operation of borrowed phone, no video. All (I believe) names received later due to help of attending PAX…thanks brothers!
COT: Winter HEC starts Monday. YHC has lost approximately 20 lbs since joing F3, all during stints on the HEC, it works and it is highly suggested and helpful to a healthier lifestyle overall. Prayers for Madoff’s coworker friend Chris who is currently recovering, Jimmy Buffett’s family in the passing of his grandfather, Magma’s family who is dealing with his M’s difficult pregnancy.
Moleskin: Great work gentlemen! Thanks for putting up with my shenanigans. I hope you got something (whatever something that might be) out of it:) Time flew on the field. Had to cut out some things. I am sure missing out on Indian Bear Crawl races is highly disappointing. This is an amazing AO that we barely scratched the surface of today. Being comfortable with getting uncomfortable is a great way to grow as a human. We were all FNGs once and made the uncomfortable decision to post for the first time and are all undoubtedly better for it. Continue to push yourself outside of your comfort zone (I’m talking to myself as much as anyone else) and get after it brothers!
