Harrisburg Turkey Bowl II

All All MECA Backblasts

November 24th, 2016 By Gamma

50 of Harrisburg’s finest, young and old, gathered at the park to give thanks for the many blessings we’ve been given, especially our families and friends. Well, and to play a little football.

Pledge of Allegiance
SSH x14 (when 15 is just too many)
Count off by 4s to form four teams
Ignore those counts because we need to first split between black and white shirts
Split between black and white shirts, then each in half. Thanks for the help, guys.

Two games of approx. 30 minutes each. YMCA “rules” apply, except the dumb ones, which were scrapped in lieu of whatever was more advantageous for the rule-maker at the moment.

Pretty sure the white shirts won both games, and no, there were no participation trophies given.

COT (thanks to Cooter for taking us out)

Thanksgiving Moleskin
1. Perfect day for football. Great to see so many 2.0s out this morning

2. Tclaps to Riptide and Solo Cup for the early Bull Run, and Kojak and Gapper for the early ruck workout.

3. Gamma: “does this narrow field make me look fat?” Solo Cup: “no, your fat does”

4. When all else fails, throw it high. Cooter will get it.

5. Deuce may have been juuuuust a bit offsides when he got to the QB 7 yards away before the ball left the center’s hands.

6. Bear Claw’s 2.0 runs over Tumbler’s youngest. Two plays later, Bear Claw knocks down Tumbler’s second youngest. I imagine this is how the Hatfield-McCoy saga started. Tumbler shot back, though, by collapsing a few of Deuce’s ribs, then bleeding on himself.

7. Gapper still has hops, or as he describes it, “proportionally to my height, I can get up there.”

8. Lots of great plays out there…couple diving catches, an off-the-receiver’s-head interception, tightrope down the sideline, etc. I’m sure the dads did some good things as well.

9. Great times at coffeeteria. Consensus seems to be that Bojangles has the best coffee in all of Harrisburg that was open on Thanksgiving.

10. Some early BRR2017 talk…and/or possibly the Bourbon Chase in KY.

11. I’m sure I missed a lot….sound off below.

Thank you all for making F3Harrisburg what it is.

Pax tibi,
Gamma

    1. Yeah, at least half were 2.0s. It was like Lord of the Flies out there.
