We Won’t Be Running Much…And Other Lies at Tradition
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 15th, 2016
13 men (including YHC) made what I would argue to be one of the best decisions of their day by taking their #DRP, choosing to be “unusual” and posting to the Tradition AO to get stronger than they were when they arrived. As we were stretching and getting ready to go, @Dutch asks me if there’s going to be a lot of running today. I told him no because I ran a half a few days ago, am training for a marathon, and I’m not feeling it today. @Astro Van asks me where I was this morning for the pre-run. I use the same excuse. Then I point out that it’s up to them to determine if I’m being truthful about any of those things. 5:30am arrived, YHC gave a half-hearted disclaimer (unfamiliar faces were in the crowd but no FNGs) and the pax quickly learned that I indeed, had lied.
Warmorama:
Mosey around the church, then mosey the long way around the parking lot…then mosey to the wall across Prosperity (does this have a name)?
People’s Chair while we wait for the six. Once they arrived…
15 SSH IC
Someone then asked if we’re taking a field trip to Wellington. Hmmm…
Mosey to the top of Katelyn and plank to wait for the six. Once they arrived…
15 IST IC
Someone asks AGAIN if we’re going to visit our Precinct brothers. YHC has noticed that even when I try to be unpredictable…people figure it out.
Halfway down Katelyn, wait for the six. Once they arrived…
15 CP IC
Mosey down to The Precinct’s Shovel Flag
15 Windmills IC while a few pax who shall remain nameless move The Precinct’s shovel flag
The Thang:
Mosey down to the gun range
10 Pullups
10 Mericans
8 Pull ups
8 Mericans
6 Pull ups
6 Mericans
4 Pull ups
4 Mericans
2 Pull Ups
2 Mericans
The chatter begins about whether or not our Precinct brothers can see us. An audible is then called to mosey to the Prison Yard to disrupt…er I mean check on our Precinct brothers. Again, the pax who made this decision shall remain nameless but as we ran through I heard lots of ‘encouragement’ being given to our brothers and I believe I saw @Trail Mix and @Hot Wheels getting after it. YHC did not hear @ManDown so I assume he wasn’t there!
Mosey Up Saxonbury (5 burpees)
Mosey back to where the Precinct Shovel Flag was (5 burpees)
Mosey up Katelyn and stop halfway…@Dutch suggests that we should do tree huggers…5 burpees
Mosey to the top of Katelyn (5 burpees)
Mosey to the Wall…@Astro Van is already doing Balls to the Wall when I arrive. It’s like…we’re the same person brother!
BTTW AYG. @Guinness takes the VT
People’s Chair for 1 minute with Air Presses
Mosey back to the church portico and partner up. Each partner runs opposite directions around the church. Each time they meet, each man does 5 burpees. Rinse and repeat until time is called. I think we knocked out 20-25 burpees.
Mary:
Mosey back to the Tradition shovel flag…
10 LBCs IC
10 Reverse Crunches IC
Plank Clocks with mericans
5 burpees OYO (Thank @Dutch for these)
Moleskin:
It was great seeing familiar faces this morning and Q’ing at one of many of my homes across F3nation. A few things to note:
-I logged 2.1 miles this morning. I lied about not running but we’re all stronger for it!
-Good to see @Blind Date back after the half marathon this weekend. Good work brother!
-@Jelly was unusually quiet this morning. What’s happened since I last posted there for a ‘regular’ beatdown?
-I got to observe @Dutch’s burpee form for myself this morning. Those are modified burpees brother!
-We also spotted @Major Pain waiting for his M by doing burpees across the street. #strong. Also, thank her again for cheering us on last weekend!
-@Luxury, we are all human. We’ve just been doing this stuff for a while. Keep posting and it will soon be you. Also, nice shoes!
-@Doc, I didn’t get to talk to you but good seeing you.
-@Guinness, I’m glad your back is better.
-@Maximus, you don’t age brother! I hope I’m still doing this stuff in 30 years.
-@Ribshack, your text last night asking “is this a trick?” when seeing my name on the SUG was hilarious as was your tweet this morning. #jerk
-@ONJ, I forgot to do J-los. #next time
-@Mr. Belding, it’s been a while. Good to see you’re still fast! #BRR 2017
-@Pongo, speaking of BRR, I can’t wait for you to join us as a runner next year!
-@Astro Van, every time I see you, you look thinner. Keep it up with the pre-bootcamp runs. It will catch on!

Good work this morning! Sound off!
@Farm – you are a funny man! Laughing makes the running easier. Lies, excuses and audibles – I am impressed you admit it…
I overheard you casually say beforehand – “Been running some lately – did a half marathon on Saturday” as if it took the same effort as one might take to go get the mail at the bottom of the driveway!
Keep running – see where you are in 30 years!
Good workout this morning, Farm. At first, my legs were not too keen on running after Saturday but it took very little time to get back in the groove. One of my favorite signs on Saturday (other than the 30 year old girl holding one that said “Love your Endurance. Call me.”) read “Pain is temporary but regret is forever.” Felt good to be out at a bootcamp again with everyone.
Doc – great talking with you this morning.
Farm – Come visit anytime, brother.
LOL! I missed that!
Enjoyed it brother. Glad we kept running around and moving. No mumblechatter this morning. I was worn out before I even got there.
Keep posting @luxury. You’ll get stronger.
@The Farm, You may not have HEARD me when you passed through, but I couldn’t SEE you! Stand up next time brother!
😉
Thanks for making it a fun Beatdown this morning, @TheFarm. Burpees always make it fun too.
