Tabata and Gump
All All MECA BackblastsNovember 14th, 2016
10 men came out today for what YHC hoped would be a tough kettlebell beatdown. After taking the last week pretty easy, I wanted to start the week right. I saw no one signed up to Q SWAT on my way home from our nation’s capital yesterday, so I took it and came up with what was hopefully a challenging workout. Plus, Gump showed up!!
Warm-Up
– SSH x 12
– Cotton pickers x 12
– IST x 12
The Thang
Pretty simple workout this morning. Tabata timer was set for 25 seconds on, 10 seconds off. Eight total exercises with eight sets per exercise. YHC informed the pax that the goal was to get 10 reps per set at a minimum. Hopefully everyone reached that.
1. Curls
2. Tricep Extensions
3. Chest Press
4. Pull over
5. High Pull
6. Lawnmower Pull
7. Kettlebell Swing
8. LBCs with kettlebell held up over chest
Moleskin
– I certainly hope everyone got a good workout in this morning. I definitely did. My arms are toast.
– If you were able to easily do at least 10 reps per set, time to go up in weight. And don’t use the “I just make it look easy” excuse like some did this morning. You know who you are.
– Gump rolled up with a cute little 3.4 kg KB (about 7.5 pounds for us Americans). It was purple too. He also had a Thomas the Train towel just in case he got dirty. Major threatened to take his lunch money. Glad you could make it this morning Gump.
– Also heard that Urlacher’s M was ok with his and Major’s relationship. That’s a relief!!!!

Good job @jelly my arms are toast as well. Which is a good thing given I have no money for lunch today. @MP said something about it was a weight loss program…
Good to see Major Pain helping with diets and all. Wonder if he made it to the super moon yet?
Jelly didn’t give an audible when we were doing lat raises one time, I ended up doing over a minutes straight of them….. can I have giant shoulders now please? Let me look like @TripleThreat.
Great workout Jelly. Yes, I make this look easy but that is what the pros do. Kudos to King Louie and I as we were the only men from the Tradition who endured the two workouts at the Stonebridge Men’s retreat that also should up for Kettle bells today. Three straight beatdowns and yeah, we make it look easy. OUT!
I think I might have you beat there big boy 😉
2 beatdowns in the mountains
1 x 6 mile run in the mountains
1 beatdown @skywalker this morning
AND I’m still fatter than you!
@GhettoD I also posted on Friday. So Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
I want some sleep days, agh.
I’m impressed Ghetto D. I chose to listen to my body this morning, my back in particular. My back tells me that It was a good one to miss by the looks of it.
I was going to comment on the excellent beatdown @jelly until I was sidetracked reading all these comments about workout champs who exercise multiple times in successive days. Very impressive…
Oh yes – about the workout – it was tough – had to stop a bit during it as arms were aching.
Word for the day – I’ll look up later – “Tabata”
I’ll learn to make my Iphone do that and Q with that soon too… Progress.
