From the Prison Yard to the School Yard
All All MECA BackblastsOctober 25th, 2016
10 of the Precinct Faithful suited up for a rare “themed” beatdown by YHC: elementary school recess games. We played Duck, Duck, Goose and had a 3-legged race. And we did mericans bigly, and burpees even bigerly. Here’s the report card…
Mosey to cell block for the standard warm up fare of SSH, IST, windmills, squats and mericans.
– Starting off with “Duck, Duck, Goose”, It crab walks around the circle of planking men. When he calls Goose, both race around the cellblock, while everyone else does some Caroline Dry Docks. Repeato several rounds.
– Next up, silent speed ball. Toss the 20-lb medicine ball back and forth. If the ball gets dropped, 10 burpees for everyone. (ok, better make it 5 burpees).
– Time for the field day relay race. Hop on one foot across the tennis courts, and sprint back. Switch feet and repeato.
Next, Partner up for a 3-leggend race across the tennis court – 10 burpees together at the end, and race back.
Finally, Wheelbarrow across the courts with 10 mericans before starting. Switch up for the way back.
– For the President’s Fitness Test, sprint to one line, grab a tennis ball, sprint back, and grab the second ball. Finish up with the good ol’ 1-mile fun run (7:30 goal).
– Wrap up with some WWIIs & Planks, announcements, COT & BOM.
The Moleskin
– Thanks for entertaining me and doing something a little different.
– The medicine ball is now with the tires and blocks, if anybody else wants to incorporate it as a new way of inflicting pain.
– Continued prayers for Sandman’s recovery.
– Several opportunities to reach out and get to know your brothers of the gloom a little better… Come to Tradition on Tap on Thursday, come to the beatdown chowdown Saturday, or the Stonebridge men’s retreat in a few weeks. Don’t live in isolation, but put yourself out there and live in community.
Aye!

Don’t you mean Biglier?
Nice workout this morning @Trail Mix. Good fun with good pain.
@HotWheels – We’ll practice that 3 legged race for next years field day when we are in 4th grade, we’re taking the gold next time.
Leaving the medicine ball behind might be a bit risky.
I give it one week before it disappears or it finds it’s way all the way down at the bottom of the woods.
Thanks for the fun beatdown.
The one mile did me in.
Nah, it’ll last till the spring at least. Unless YOU are the mysterious vandal. Hmm…
You said in your disclaimer that we’d have some fun, and I must say you delivered Trail Mix! Well done!
