The Chicken That Stole Nighthawk’s Run

All All MECA Backblasts

July 22nd, 2016 By The Nanny

8 pax showed up to take the Chicken for a ride.  The Chicken didn’t like it and stole some GPS data in revenge.

The Thang:

  1. 3 laps of the 1.3 mile route = 800 ft of climb across 3.9 mi.

The Naked Moleskin:

  1. YHC was pulling into the lot on-time at 5:29:55 and the pax had already left?!  Again.  I am starting to think I am the problem.  Geesh.
  2. In a repeat of Wednesday’s match up, Nighthawk was in the lead with a guy who looked a lot like Frodo right on his tail.  Frodo eventually shifted into a new gear and ended the run in front and then ate two additional toes of the chicken.  Since he is running on a 6 man BRR team and has 40+ miles of legs in front of him, he better be hitting it hard.
  3. I think the pax was worried that Derby was going to show them all up so they failed to tell him where the third toe was.  As YHC was in process of trying to catch up, Derby was coming up the chicken’s middle finger a 2nd time and had to be re-directed to that sneaky third toe.  Poor guy.
  4. Great to see Gordo out there getting after it.  Thorn was looking strong and then on his final climb was limping through a calf cramp.  Nighthawk and Shazam must have been cleaning all the meat off those toes b/c they treated us to a rare shirtless show.  Glock as usual looked like he had just climbed out of a swimming pool.  That boy can sweat.
  5. Later in the morning there was a yell of rage heard round the hood when Nighthawk got a #BSOD on his watch and lost the morning’s run data.  If your run isn’t on Strava, did it ever really happen?  Was Nighthawk even at the run this morning?
  6. As a side note, Nighthawk’s been pretty popular this week showing up in the title of not one but two backblasts.  His stock is rising.
  7. Strong COT this morning with three guys asking for prayers for loved ones battling various forms of cancer; Thorn’s mom, Genie’s uncle, and a dude from Isotope (??) sister’s father in law.  Lift em up.

  1. Took me three alarms to actually make it out of bed this morning. I was NOT feeling it but as usual, I am glad I posted. Great to see so many brothers eating Fried-aye chicken today.

  2. Noteworthy: after @Glock left the AO, you could see his sweaty footprints go all the way out of the parking lot. It’s one thing to create a sweat angel that a small child could drown in, but an actual trail of footprints too?! That’s a whole new level!
