One is the loneliest number…
All All MECA BackblastsJune 28th, 2016
One, Uno, ein, un, a single Pax showed up to do a little running this morning. In disbelief, he decided to go check all around the Dawg House to see if they were hiding somewhere.
-Run to the bowl and find that it’s locked up tight, no dawgs down there today.
-Turn back to the kennel, to the softball field and down to the practice field…nope not there either.
-Maybe they’re behind the school, run a lap around the school, WAIT, I see someone…nope just a teacher, never mind, she won’t run with me. Continue around the school.
-Maybe someone came really late, head up the stairs, back to the car, still nothing.
-Do a couple recon laps around the parking lot to make sure that no one is hiding in the sea of yellow, still alone.
-Where else can I go, I know, the baseball field, make a lap around the baseball field and find that I really am the only one.
Cut it a little short this morning, only snagged just over 2.5 miles, but with as humid as it was this morning and missing the push, it was a tough 2.5 miles for me.
YHC missed all of the regulars this morning, wondering if he missed the memo. Running is so much easier when you’re in a pack, I wasn’t looking forward to the run this morning, the fartsack had a strong hold, and definitely needed some extra push. Hopefully, we’ll get a good turnout tomorrow morning as Pharaoh holds the leash.
See you all in the gloom.
