The Vern Lived Up To Its Billing

All All MECA Backblasts

June 20th, 2016 By SS Minnow

Six MECA over-achievers took on the second running of The Vern at El Dorado on this bright moon-lit morning. After a brisk run to the North Deck, that always gets the blood flowing, it was on to The Vern challenge. Those new to The Vern quickly learned what is was, and what it was was a relentless onslaught of climbing, descending, running mixed in with CCD/dip/merkin/LBC. The main event was then topped off by another vigorus run back to Burrito Station (aptly named last year by Chowder)

The Thang:

Run to North Deck

Round 1: Exercises at bottom of Stairway to Heaven; Run = Up and down StH

Round 2: Go to Ramps – Exercises at base of ramp; run is up 1 ramp and 1 flat. (when you complete all 4 sets of exercises run back down)

Round 3: Exercises at base of Mineshaft; Run = Up and down Mineshaft

Round 4: See Round 2

Round 5: See Round 1

Moleskin

Thanks for the opportunity, men. Strong push by all. We all finished that beast close together. This type of climbing will pay dividends come September, if you know what I mean.

Hears-a-who…you must have kicked in the afterburners to catch up with us at the North Deck … look’in real strong.

Clueless … you get the ‘relentless’ award … got faster as the grind went on, as usual

The Nanny … glad Monday’s are working out again for you for El Dorado

Jumanji … way to push yourself … and congrats on taking the F3 Trophy at Saturday’s King Tiger 5K

Chowder … strong work, as always….also, I like your name for the launch point for El Dorado, Burrito Station…more colorful than ‘Kohls Parking Lot’ Also, Stairway to Heaven and The Mineshaft named withing the North Deck…..do you have a name idea for the ramps?
