Chasing Cops… And Hills
All All MECA BackblastsMarch 26th, 2016
8 of the Faithful gathered in the gloom to get in a few miles, get rid of some calories, and get stronger for the day. The premise was simple – run a 1 mile loop four times at your best pace. When you finish your 4 laps, reverse course, find the six, and finish out with a fellowship run.
After everyone finishes 4 laps, one more time down the Farmlands and back, just for good measure.
The route: from Wellington Poolhouse (aka prisoner checkin), down Katelyn, left on Silvermere, left on greenway, left on Avon Farm, left on Saxonbury, and repeat.
The Moleskin:
- Some hard effort out there, with the lead pack pushing a sub-8 min. pace, and getting upwards of 300ft elevation gain.
- Guinness and YHC were setting the base pace, slow and steady, but finishing the race.
- Coyote had to peel off after lap 1 due to a foot injury. Smart move. Rest up.
- During BOM, apparently someone had called the cops because Ajax had been running like he stole something. The officer stepped out of his cruiser, shined his light on the BOM to investigate. Man Down apparently had plenty left in the tank, with testosterone surging, proceeded to chase the officer on foot, who ran away down the street from the black-clad beast. Just another day at the Precinct.
- Grizz and YHC hit up Bojangles after the beatdown, much to Farm’s dismay.

Thanks @Trail Mix for the push. I definitely had a “base pace” and I was glad to get it done. Great to see @Ajax back in action.
That was a great (i.e. sucky) route Trail Mix! Bojangles was truly great though! I especially enjoyed taunting The Farm with it as I drove by Davis Lake’s AO with my 2.0 a little after 7am on our way to Man Time!
That was ridiculous what @ManDown did. The pax were confused…I was like, “Hey that’s @ManDown.” He actually drove through my COP to show me his box of incorrectly ordered breakfast (ALWAYS get chicken at Bojangles…). Then drove over the curb on his way out.
@Trailmix, thanks for the awesome cruise brother! Although I hate The Farmlands…which sounds funny when I say it. ;). But that’s good elevation. I’m wondering why @Trailmix is running so many hills… Perhaps you’re preparing for something???
