What: MECA F3 Dads Camping
Who: MECA F3 Dad’s and their 2.0’s (kids of all ages are welcomed – we had 4 yr olds at the last F3 Dads camping trip and it worked out great)
When: before sundown Friday April 15 through the morning of Sunday April 17th
Where: Stone Mountain Park in North Carolina (reserved Group Camp 1)
Costs: under $15 per dad (includes site, firewood, charcoal and s’mores)
Newbie campers are welcomed, we will make sure you are properly prepared, and don’t let lack of gear stop you from coming – just let Bling know and we will find you some gear.

Additional Information

  • Be sure to pack sandwich makings to eat on top of Stone Mountain Satursday afternoon
  • Water available at site
  • Many Dad’s are planning to Grill dinner on Friday/Saturday.  We’ll have plenty of Charcoal ready and hot
  • We’ll have three picnic tables available but recommend to bring camp chairs for overflow seating, sitting around camp fire
  • Firewood will be provided
  • S’More Martials will be provided -bring your own sticks (or make/find one)
  • Plan about an hour and a half to Stone Mountain State Park
  • First come first serve on where to put your tent
  • Site technically becomes available at 3pm but Bling/Bootstrap will be setting up on Friday early

Friday Night
Arrive before sundown, setup camp
Dinner – OYO
Camp fire and ‘smores

Saturday
Breakfast – OYO
Kid Friendly Beat down
Snack time
Hike up to Stone Mountain (we will have a few different routes to accommodate different ages and physical capabilities
Lunch – OYO
Game time!  Flag Football, capture the flag and soccer
Wilderness/ Outdoor Learning Centers (more information to follow)
Dinner – Group Dinner (more information to follow)
Camp fire with ‘smores

Sunday
Informal church service
Breakfast – OYO
Kid Friendly Beat down
Break camp
Go home and pack all gear away

      Take me off of the HC list…
      I wrote this event into May and not April… Soccer game Saturday and Sunday event with Mom prevent this from happening. Guess I slipped it into May because that weekend was open.
