Why do we need headlamps?
All All MECA BackblastsFebruary 9th, 2016
6 Lakers and Skipper (who kinda belongs to every MeCa AO) donned their headlamps and joined YHC for a little adventure away from the comforts of the Davis Lake neighborhood. Having never jogged outside of the AO in the dark, I wasn’t sure how many streetlights were available, so I encouraged everyone to bring a headlamps. Although the path was well lit, it was probably a good thing we had them just to avoid becoming roadkill. Disclaimer made and off we go!
The Thang:
- 1 mile mosey to David Cox Elementary. Along the way the pax stopped at various locations for SSH, IST, Cotton Pickers, Mountain Climbers, and Low Slow Squats.
- Backwards run across school parking lot.
- Partner up for some combination exercises.
- P1 runs to playground and completes 20 Pull-Ups. P2 does Muscle-Ups on the wall AMRAP until P1 returns. Switch x3 until 80 total Pull-Ups are completed as a team. Then mosey over to low wall around playground.
- P1 does 20 Jump-Ups (or 20 Step-Ups each leg). P2 does Dips AMRAP until relieved by P1. Switch x3 again until 80 total Jump-Ups completed as a team.
- 1 mile run back to Davis Lake. Along the way the lead pax stopped for Deconstructed Burpees while waiting on the six. ‘Mericans, Jump Squats, and Leg Thrusts.
- No time for Mary, so circle up for COT!
Moleskin:
- That time flew by fast! I had several more exercises ready for our time at the school, but we got back in the nick of time as it was. Hope you guys enjoyed it!
- Remember the story about Alexander the Great and apply this to your prayer life. God is both Rich AND Generous…Able AND Willing…Great AND Good. So ask, seek, and knock!

Thanks for privilege to lead this morning guys! Great work out there!
I enjoyed it Man Down! Great heading down to the school and great second F with you, @Skipper, @Point Break, and @Triple Threat. You are right about the pull ups…use it or lose it!
Also great partnering up with Class 5 this morning. When I asked him about coming to the cruise for 4 miles tomorrow, he said, “I don’t think I can run a mile.” I broke it to him after COT that he’d just run 2! #strong
That was a punishing Q. You probably had heard of my legendary mumble chatter but were disappointed when there was none. Thanks Man Down for partnering with me.
Good to know how to quiet the mumblechatter Back Cracker… I’ll keep that in my back pocket for future Q’s.
Ahoy! I always enjoy when @ManDown provides the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd F!
T-Claps and thanks for taking a Q at #DL.
