Skywalker’s first running of Chicken Foot
All All MECA BackblastsJanuary 18th, 2016
6 men (1/3 of them late, I’ll let you guess who) came to Skywalker to find some hills. With BRR EHs being jabbed from start to finish, here’s what we did.
The Thang
Chicken Foot
- Starting at the intersection of Linksland and Northgreen, run 1/2 down hill and take a left onto cart path of hole #18 and run to the bottom of the hill- just past the green. Run back up to starting line.
- Run to intersection of Northgreen and Fairwoods. Run back to starting line.
- Run 1/2 down hill and take a right onto cart path of hole #10. Run down past tee boxes and up the next big hill to the top. Run back to starting line.
- Rinse and repeat till 0615
Moleskin
- One complete lap of Chicken Foot equals 1.25 miles with 292 feet of elevation gain. I’m no expert, but that’s a lot of hillage (that is a word, right?).
- Ice was definitely a factor on hole 10 this morning… half way down I found a nice sheet and rode it for about 20 feet on my six. It was actually a bit fun once I was sure that I didn’t break anything. Audible was called to snip out #10 for the rest of the morning.
- I ran out of gas quick this morning… one week off feels like losing a year’s worth of training.
- TClaps to our Highlands brothers who made the drive over to join us this morning.
- I plan to Q this many more times for all the BRR guys so stay tuned for the next installment.

HC next time you do this. Are Mondays a “hilly run” day for Skywalker?
Nice! We run every Monday and it’s impossible to not have a “hilly run” in Skywalker.
You must be referring to The Nanny on the late arrival, because I pulled in at exactly the right time. You just started 15 seconds early.
Enjoyed the new AO for a tough, cruise-like workout. Legs are feeling it now from that ridiculous hill. Thanks, Grinder!
Nice…..introducing the uninitiated AO to Stoli time.
I still need to do some fact checking on these stats b/c they are off the charts when it comes to elevation gain per lap, but regardless, it is a challenging little course. By the time we finished, my legs actually had a pump – kind of like how your chest feels after the Murph. I don’t usually feel that. The #ChickenFoot is legit.
Fact checking is welcomed and encouraged. Part of the first hill has a 20+% grade. I’ll be rerunning the course posting the segment to Strava within 24hrs.
