Don’t know much about geography

All All MECA Backblasts

December 21st, 2015 By Skipper

While most schools are on Christmas break today, a 6-pack of F3 students beat the 0530 bell to attend class at #TheValley.  Today’s subject was American geography and the teacher was @Skipper and his “Slide-a-fax”.

The Thang:

Warm-up mosey and COP (SSH, IST, Windmill, Mountain Climbers)

To the front of the school for the geography classroom, a large painted mural on the ground showing America and each state.  YHC picked a state, asked a few questions usually having to do with Capital city, state motto, state bird, state flower, or state size (because those were the columns on the “slide-a-fax”).  We did exercises and reps based on how well the pax answered. Then we’d run a lap around the entrance circle and pick another state…repeato…repeato…

The exercises included burpees, mericans, plank, peoples chair, air presses, various Mary, more plank, carolina dry dock, and more plank.  We also switched up the running to include backwards, skips, lunge walk, karaoke, high knees, sprints.

The Notebook:

  1.  Well done students, we covered at least 13 states today which means there’s plenty more to go for future sessions #about37more+PR
  2. The “Slide-a-fax” was a fun little state trivia device that the @Skipper 2.0s found at grandma’s house.  Other than population I’m guessing not many of the facts have changed since its printing in 1987. #Bazingabirthyear
  3. We learned a lot about our country today, and a lot about what the pax didn’t know about our country.  Luckily @MrBelding was there to save us all. #Phoenix
  4. Special prayers for @Innkeeper and his family this holiday season.  Yesterday his dad was in a terrible car accident in Mississippi and his step-mom was killed.  His dad is currently in the hospital in Memphis. #powerofprayer
  5. Let us all remember our many blessings this week of Christmas.

Ahoy!

  1. @Innkeeper – I’m glad you posted and I hope we could distract your mind for at least 45 minutes this morning. Safe travels over the next few days and please keep your F3 brothers aware of any help you may need. God bless.

  2. Thanks Skipper. It was the distraction I needed and gave me what I needed for the day ahead. Came for strength, left with STRENGTH.
