Striker here with another local North Meck volunteer opportunity open to all men of F3.
The Town of Cornelius, Police and Fire Departments are holding a Christmas Tree Fundraiser to help raise the monies to plant a large piece of World Trade Center steel that the town purchased from the New York/New Jersey Port Authority a couple months ago. This memorial will be proudly displayed under the flag pole at Fire Station 1 on N. Main St. in Cornelius.
We are having a very hard time filling slots with Police and Fire personnel and request Immediate call to action starting tomorrow through mid-month. Great opportunity to work alongside the men and women that keep this fantastic town safe and to meet some of the local residents. Work will consist of dragging trees to and from yard, assisting with loading trees for patrons, EH’ing fat firemen… Sorry Gnarly Goat, I admit, we have fat cops too, but im sure we can all agree fat firemen has a better ring! Basically just being there to support some of the guys that are running the show. There will be someone on site to give you a rundown of duties for the volunteer time slot. Pack your mud gear and gas up your chain saws!
Thus far pproximately 250 trees have been sold and $14.5K collected (we are in the BLACK)….. Below is the official request from the Town Clerk that was sent out yesterday. F3 is cordially invited and much needed in this community endeavor. Signup is easy by simply clicking the links below and picking a time slot.
We cannot thank everyone who has volunteered so far BUT we still need help. The CVFD represented in a huge way but will not be available this Thursday evening and most of the weekend. Please use the links below, invite neighbors, family, friends to come and help because there is no way 3 people can cover going forward. ALSO, any and all that are comfortable running a chainsaw would be greatly appreciated.
