Leisurely Stroll to the 2nd Best Davis Lake AO

All All MECA Backblasts

November 28th, 2015 By The Farm

7 men started but 8 men finished a beatdown concocted last minute by YHC when I noticed no one had signed up to Q. I used this as a great opportunity to explore an area I hadn’t been to since before we started our AO! It went as follows:

1 Mile Warm-Up Run to David Cox Elementary

.25 Miles
SSH IC until 6 catches up

.25 Miles
IST IC until 6 catches up

.25 Miles
CP until 6 catches up

.25 Miles
Windmill until 6 catches up

As we reached David Cox Elementary, there was lots of mumblechatter about how awesome this location would’ve been as Davis Lake’s main AO and how YHC made a good choice but this would’ve been better yada yada yada. There’s even a wall for 50 man muscle ups and a parking lot large enough for convergences. Anyway, back to business.

Partner Up

Each group will perform the following:

Round 1

50 pull ups
150 mericans
200 air squats

Round 2

50 burpees
150 CDDs
200 lunges

We ended up with two groups of two and one group of three since we had seven pax at the time.

Mosey back to parking lot to perform the following to test the wall:

10 muscle ups OYO

Mosey back to the 1st best choice for an AO. Hey look…its ONJ! Apparently, he saw us mosey at the beginning, waited for us to come back which didn’t happen for another 40 minutes, and did his own workout while waiting for us to return. Good job brother! Although, you probably could’ve caught us… With our even number of pax, we partnered up and did this:

Partner Wheelbarrow with 5 Squerkins to start and five Squerkins if partners switch on way to the end. All but the Tradition Master Q who will remain nameless understood this.

Finally, we did a few rounds of sprints at full pace then moseyed back to the start at 5k pace.

As always, it was a pleasure serving as your Q this morning. I hope everyone got their money’s worth. We covered approximately two miles round trip to the school and back!

The best way to get more comfortable with running is to keep running. The bootcamps strengthen your heart and lungs to be able to handle the runs, but unless you are out there logging the miles, you will find your legs tiring before the rest of your body. I used to experience this and it is extremely frustrating! I cured it by showing up to the cruises and I got faster by running with faster men. Having said all that said, let’s run more!

Announcements:

  1. Sound off!!!

  2. I know I’ve given you crap about your “soft” beatdowns…….that was the exact opposite of easy!! Great Beatdown!

  3. Although…….why did you have a weinke in your pants even though you weren’t the Q??

    1. My weinke was in my hoodie! A Master Q should always be prepared to Q. At least that’s what I’ve heard!

  4. Did you see the stairs in the back of the school? Lots of pain could happen at that place.

    1. No! I’ll check that out very soon…

  5. It sounds like I missed a good one. Especially since Farm finally had a difficult workout

  6. As always, you guys are hilarious.

    1. I know, right? We are
