Ultimate Frisbee – A Game and a Workout!

22 men & boys from age ten to sixty enjoyed some of the fruits of their hard work playing ultimate frisbee. Everyone’s heart rate was accelerated for just about the whole hour, so this game also counted as a decent beat-down.

The thang

Count off by 4’s to form 4 teams

Mosey to the middle of the football field

Side Straddle Hop x 20

Windmill x 15

Imperial Storm Trooper x 15

Merkins x 10

Mountain Climbers x 10

Odd numbered teams are shirts and even numbered teams are skins…..play 2 games

Game 1…20 minutes: Team 1 (shirts) plays team 2 (skins)…. team 3 (shirts) plays team 4 (skins) …. Game 2…20 minutes: Team 1 (shirts) plays team 4 (skins)…. team 3 (shirts) plays team 2 (skins) ….

Split the field in half and play both games at the same time on the same field, cross-ways.

Mosey to Mary

LBC x 25

Low Dolly x 20

Crunchy Frog x 15

Moleskin:

I saw a lot of hustle on the field, team-work, and some nice diving catches too!

Great to see @Frodo and @Mighty Mouse here from Highlands

TClaps to the 5:00 am runners this morning … @BRR15 prep … the @F3Harrisburg 6-man team is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Strong work also by the seven additional Pax for the Bull Run at 6:00 am

I hit the 60 yr mark yesterday, and I am honored to be part of this dedicated group of men that help motivate me to keep pushing my limits, building friendships and strengthening my faith….I hope to enjoy quite a few more years of this @F3Nation phenomenon with the Pax

@SSMinnow – great change of pace today. I think it was a success based on the coffeeteria comments…a lot of fun was had and we still ended up running several miles. Again, happy birthday, and thanks for being part of this pax. You make us all better men.

For the record, @Othello may be one of the most secretly competitive guys I’ve met. Although, @TheMagnificent’s UFC-style takedown of @SunDial to deny him a touchdown puts him up there.

hey hey now, I thought I still scored that TD? Or maybe Magnificent just said that to be nice… =)

Great change of pace Minnow – lots of fun and gave me some ideas for next time! As always I enjoyed the 2nd F during the Bull run.

Great way to enjoy a good workout and evening!! Also have it known @Sundial made the touchdown (what a catch and humble player) You can count me as a bad sport, because I’m pretty sure I would have been ejected for unnessesary roughness after that hit.

Happ birthday Minnow!! I had my 2.0s at the Dads workout, but heard from @Chaos that I missed the best Railyard post in history. I LOVED playing ultimate in college and imagine I would still. Sorry to miss it!

  6. Othello

Awesome lead and great change of pace @SSMinnow! Team 3 rocked it, with some awesome offense/defense and commraderi. Great playing and sportsmanship by all teams. FYI-@Chaos is a beast to block!

@SSMinnow-wishing a very happy bday and many, many, many more my friend.

I gotta tell you, I had a blast at the RailYard on Sat. I am still sore in places I didn’t know I could be. Only regret was not being fully hydrated. Happy birthday, Minnow! Really glad to be a part of this with you!

Isotope is starting a standing family ultimate game on Sunday afternoons over in our AO at Richard Barry Park. MECA has a standing invitation. Aye.
